Teresa R. Laurente, nee Maria Teresa Rodriguez, Mayette to her close friends and family members. She resides in San Antonio Texas with her two daughters; April and Dianne and 3 grandchildren – Anthony, Juliet, Elizabeth and one little boy on its way to the world come December, 2015. She also has a son Steve married to Anna with a college daughter named Raine and son, Joshua who resides in Dublin California. Teresa or Mayette is a full time Realtor-Broker from Professional Realty Consulting assisting buyers and sellers alike. She obtained a degree in Bachelor of Science in Commerce with Majors in Accounting and Economics at St. Peter’s College, Philippines, a Benedictine Catholic School run by German Benedictines and a sister school of St. Scholastica Manila. She finished her Masters in Business Administration concentrating in International Business at the Incarnate Word University in San Antonio, Texas. Presently, Teresa or Mayette also holds a Texas State License to teach Core Courses and MCE Legal Ethics. She is also active in volunteering fund raising for many great causes for San Antonio children and Propagation of Faith projects in the Philippines. She aims to set a children library soon in her mother’s home town; Tugbong, Kananga, Leyte, Philippines. Painting is Teresa’s dream and passion. She hopes to one day soon retire but painting and to promote her paintings international level. This way she can help fund the much needed rehabilitation from the ruins of Haiyan typhoon that wiped out and misplaced the poorest of the community. It is her sincerest hope that you will love A Glimpse of Eden I and share them with your friends and family.

FOREWORD

This book is born from my thoughts, which is created into an artwork: my paintings. I love nature: the moon and sun, trees, rivers and ocean, waterfall and flowers and the living creatures in the forest and the vast water of the earth. Even if this life is not perfect, all I see in nature is pure wonder. So, from the paintings I have created the thoughts of heaven. I am alive and heaven I believe is found in after life. And Eden is a place where everything in sight is beautiful and magical, if not heavenly. It is paradise as described in the story of Adam and Eve. A place of perfect bliss, the dictionaries say. Thus, I titled this book, ‘A glimpse of Eden’ because everything about nature is beautiful and heavenly and my artwork is all about the glimpses of the beautiful earth. Why? They all remind me of love, goodness, and joy. And I truly believe it is God’s way of telling us that He is right here with us.

Every work I did was coming from my thoughts. I claim that I themed this book from the movie of St. Francis de Assisi; Brother Sun and Sister moon because most of my artwork has a sun or a moon in it. Believe me I went to see the movie Pocahontas all by myself and loved the story, the soundtrack, the pictures and everything. If I were to choose, I would love to paint every scene the moon appears and every place of sunset. But I am still a full time working Realtor, thus my time is limited and I can seldom hold my paint brushes lest travel and capture the captivating sights of the day and night. Perhaps with the help of art enthusiasts my position will get better in time. And these I pray
