Invisible Tree, invisible Me
I used to be as strong as a tree
Bending and swaying
Standing tall and proud
Providing stability for others to lean on
And shade for comforting protection
Stretching strong branches
To welcome the challenges
Of the changing winds
Growing taller and stronger
When each new season begins
Now, this tree struggles to stand against
The stinging winds of chronic pain
Winds that cut like knives
Whittling my branches and core down to brittle twigs
Of lowered self esteem
Riding the never ending cycles of pain and fear
Frustration and loneliness have brought me here
Once again trying to plant new roots
Trying to grow out of the depths of despair
Watered with tears, nurtured with perseverance
Trying to hold my ground
All the while, feeling invisible
For the mirror displays an unrecognizable face
With sick eyes and tired grace
A spirit shattered into pieces of lost dreams…
No one can see
The invisible tree
The invisible me
black.jpgHe was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen,
So I watched him a little while
I got up the courage to speak to him so we chatted for a little while
He was my better half at the debutant ball so I’ve danced for a little while
That night I figured out just how special he was to me so I was smitten for a little while
We felt good together so we dated for a little while
Then our scheduled conflicted so we argued for a little while
When I suggested that we part he agreed so I cried for a little while
I lost the pieces to my heart so I cried for a longer while
I always dreamt that he loved me too
So I was diluted for a little while
I hope and pray he remembers me and keeps me in his heart
For a little while
Now, more often than not
I think of him and smile
’Cuz he was mine
If only just for a little while
black.jpgI am that which is
I am everything that is, that was, and that will be.
No mortal man has lifted my veil
He is himself along, and it is to this aloneness that things
Owe their being.
-Egyptian Mother Goddess
I sing my song to the one I love thru
This chaos that rules my life
My heart breaks right before his eyes
This love has taken its toll on me and seconds of pleasure was all I got.
I’ll survive this thing called you
Love is what defines me
Love is what I need to ease my pain
black.jpgSomehow
On the other side of life
I will find some justification for these decades filled with pain
My melancholy disposition gives way to a manic state like oil cutting through water
This illness spills over my heart, my mind, my body, my soul
As I attempt to do no more than delay certainty of drowning in my own pool of blood, sorrow, air, puddle of… . Tears
This dis-ease has got me itching and scratching and stretching my skin
Trying hard to define this hell that I’m in
black.jpgA dead-end is just a good place to turn around
black.jpgGardens always mean something else,
Man absolutely uses one thing to
