    Dedication

I will like to give a special thanks to Almighty God, the giver of all things for inspiring me to write this book and for creating wonderful people around me.

A special dedication goes to my late grandparents, Elder John and Prophetess Stella Ehinwenma Obaretin.

To my family, I thank you for being the best and for all the support and unceasing love that you have always shown me. I pray that God Almighty will continue to make us stronger and take us to greater heights. To my friends, readers, well-wishers and the VERITAS group that made my year long stay in the USA pleasant, I’m very grateful for your encouragement and kind support.

To the only rose in my garden, I love you and I’m looking forward to ‘forever’ with you. Thanks for beautifying the garden of love.

    Kelvin.

    Foreword

I used to dream about so many things, but then I realised nothing will happen if I don't wake up to do something. If you dream more and take less action, your life will be like someone embarking on a journey to an unknown destination with no direction. Planning ahead and taking every day as it comes will help you to synchronise with the time of life. Don't live in the past and don't die before you have lived. Arise to live your dream before life passes you by because the life we live is what the dream is. Wake up from your slumber and remember not to let the world leave you behind. Work hard to be numbered amongst those that made things happen, not those that watched things happen. If you think you have been left behind, start again and leave your past behind. Open your heart and close your eyes, believe it is well and say a prayer like you are wishing on a shooting star. Call the Lord when he's near and he will take you through to the level where you ought to be. He will change your pain to gain, make your dry bones rise again and give you the things you need before considering the things you want. Quit wishing, face the reality with prayers and with God on your side you can be a happier, bigger and better you.

    Abeni

If you see Abeni tell her I’ve looked everywhere.

I’ve asked the farmer to scream from the top of the palm tree,

And the hunter to blow his whistle vigorously.

If you see Abeni, tell her I’ve looked everywhere.

The women in the market are offering to help,

They can see I’m out of strength.

If you see Abeni tell her I’ve looked everywhere.

    Although I’m out of strength,

    I can’t relent.

Abeni the prettiest of them all,

Omoge awelewa to fi iwa se ewa.

Abeni is the fairest of them all,

    Omoge eleyinju ege, onibadi aran.

Abeni is the brightest of them all,

Omoge to sen mu yan gan l’awujo.

If you see Abeni tell her I’ve looked everywhere,

My reason for looking is none other than to make her mine.

    Against All Odds

Against all odds, we stood strong,

And survived the tests of time.

From the tests, we got testimonies that kept us going.

It’s not been easy but God keeps us going.

I look at you and thank God for bringing you my way.

    Loving you is my hobby,

Leaving you is not worth considering.

You are a part of me that makes me strong when I’m weak.

Day in day out, you spice up my life with unceasing kindness.

Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder,

    And each time I hold you;

I can’t but think of how lucky I am to have you as mine.

    Just like the rainbow,

    You are priceless and beautiful.

To me, you are worth more than the biggest diamond.
