The Impossible is Possible
Introduction
Do not read, as children do, to amuse yourself, or like the ambitious, for the purpose of instruction, No, read in order to live
Gustave Flaubert
I was 23 years old when I discovered my passion for public speaking and information sharing. I was doing my last year of applied science at a certain college then I found out that I didn’t want to spend all my life in a laboratory but on a stage. My passion for speaking in public took me from one city to another. In 10 years I travelled over almost half of Africa; I talked to anybody about everything. One day after speaking for a whole week on the subject of song for divine worship, my host decided not to pay me but rather to employ me to teach worship for the congregation. That is until he became fed up with my growing followership and he decided to destroy my character, I opted to leave and I resolved to put my talks in a book for memory and argument sake. He sent this message Tell Isaac that he doesn’t have money to write a book. He is too poor to become an author.
Three years later I was in Cape Town discussing with a producer about my dream to be a Motivational speaker and a writer. He looked at me as if I was losing my mind, Isaac, to become a motivational speaker you must be a role model, as far as I know you are not.
All my life I have met people telling me that I am an utopist, crazy, uneducated enough, my voice was not good for speaking or singing, my accent was poor, my English limited, my French out of order, my Portuguese good for nothing, my skin color too dark for motion pictures, my face too ugly and my marriage would not last, that I would have many kids out of wedlock, that I was a witchdoctor, a magician, a false prophet, my financial status was bad, my morale was low, my faith unorthodox, my philosophy weird, that I would be a failure, unhappy, marginalized, rejected, I would not have a family, I would be an outcast, a renegade, I would have a heart attack, have a stroke, be assassinated, jailed for life or tortured, it would be impossible for me to be happy or to find love, to find peace, to be well and to write a book.
In fact the world that we are born in is full of impossibilities, full of limitations and challenges, full of people who will tell you it’s impossible but because life is about choices, I choose to tell anybody reading this book and myself that the impossible is possible.
After time I just realized that my critics and my impossibilitators
were the first hurdle that will turn my impossibility to possibility, my humiliation to elevation, my trial to triumph: the process was on.
I started reading anything that passed my eyes and writing anything that came to mind, therefore sharing with whoever wants to hear, I started speaking about dreams then I discovered the notion of time and now the concept of motion and, it turns out that it was just what I had been looking for.
Coaching, speaking, writing, teaching and mentoring then became my hobby, life, and vocation. In this book I put some principals and ideas that I had been sharing with my audience and classes since 1999, I am not the same since the day that chap told me it’s not possible
.
To become who I wanted to be, I took the fight to see my dream turn possible. I was in tears the day I read Dr David Paul Jonggy Cho the South Korean theologian argue "God does not need a perfect human to
