About this ebook

In my previous book, Look In My Eyes
Feel My Pain I touched on a lot of
subjects I felt were relevant to what was
going on in America and my community at
that time. I also touched on some personal
experiences I had gone through. With
The Gemini Chronicles Vol. 1, I wanted to
give my fans new and old a piece of me.
As you turn the pages of this book you
will experience many emotions. You will
laugh, cry, understand me as a writer a little better, and more than anything else it will
leave you asking yourself if you are part of the problem or the solution. This is more
than a book of poetry this is me at my weakest moments, my highest moments, highest
and lowest points in my life. It also contains poems that I personally may not have had
happen to me but I know someone who these situations have happened to. This book
is a book of raw and uncut emotion, a guaranteed page turner, one that will leave
you wondering what I will touch on next. It will take you on my journey as I attempt to
accomplish my goals and all the road blocks, twists, and turns I have encountered. I
can promise there will be many who will be able to relate to the subjects touched on.
This is Just the beginning..The Gemini Chronicles Vol. 1.

Gemini Da Poet

A native of Muskegon, MI, Ebony Davis A.K.A Gemini DaPoet has been writing poetry for over a decade. Her First book, Look in My Eyes Feel My Pain marked the debut of a gifted poet who is a very outspoken advocate for her community. She writes in hopes to inspire and encourage someone who may be going through hard times and feel they are alone. She has a motto “Speaking for the Unspoken”, which basically means she is speaking for those too afraid to speak for themselves. She has performed in numerous community events, Tedx Muskegon, Tedx Grand Rapids and numerous other prestigious events. She has many fans that she encourages to follow their dreams and never forget they hold the key to their destiny. “This is a God given talent in which I try to utilize to help others going through similar situations or know of someone who has gone through some of the things I touch on and use my words as a positive reinforcement. Not doing this for fame or fortune but to make a difference in my community and leave a powerful imprint in my readers mind.”

    Prologue

First and foremost I want to thank God for blessing me with the gift of poetry and blessing me with the opportunity to share my craft with the world. Poetry is an outlet for me to speak on subjects freely without worrying of the preconceptions of others. I pride myself on speaking on subjects that a majority of America sweep under the rug, put on the back burner or pretend is nonexistent. What they fail to realize is by doing so it is saying it is ok to do certain things and gives our youth a sense of false hope. With my poetry I hope to change that pattern. I want to help inform not only the younger generation but some of the older generation as well of the things we need to start addressing as a community to help rebuild our nation. I pride myself on being what I like to call the voice for the voiceless or speaking for the unspoken.

I would like to give thanks to my Mother, Drewnett Smith for always installing in me to be the best that I can be. To never let what others may think of me stop me from pursuing my dreams. You have been my backbone when I was spineless, my strength when I was weak, and my biggest supporter throughout my journey to success. I truly don’t know where I’d be without such a strong role model to help mold me.

To my Aunt, Lillie Smith for being the grandmother I never had the chance to meet. Your mother passed on before I had the chance to meet her but she left in her place an amazing replacement. You have been the rock that holds our foundation together as a family. To say I’d be lost without your guidance and wisdom would be an understatement. You have a wonderful soul and a heart as big as the world is round. I am appreciative of the support and advice you have given me along the way.

To my Brother, Arsenio Davis you are more than my brother you are my best friend. I have watched you grow from the annoying little crumb snatcher that I despised (just because I didn’t want to share mom) to a young man that I am proud to say is my baby brother. I love you to pieces.

To my Nephew, Arsenio Davis Jr. you are my motivation. You are the reason I strive to accomplish every goal I have ever envisioned because I desire for you to always be proud to call me your TeTe. My daughter passed over 16yrs ago however, God decided to give me another angel to make my heart skip beats and that angel was you. I love you as if you were my own child and would give you the world if I could.

To my Brother, Mario Hairston we may not have always been close due to circumstances beyond our control but as we have reconnected in the last few years I will never lose touch with you again. I love you as if we spent every minute of every hour together from the time you were born. I am proud of the young man you have become and thank you as well for giving me
