About this ebook

This book focuses on how your family reacts when they find out that you are a gay woman.

Many movies are written about gay men but very few about the challenges for a gay woman. Most people think about how the public responds but not about the emotions and reactions from their own family members.

Think about it.

    BIOGRAPHY

I, Pamela Mathis was born in Dallas,

Texas, to Bonnie (deceased) and Katie

Mathis. My Father was a great man and he

played a very important role in my life. At

times, he was my strength and my mother is

my rock. My father killed himself in 2006

for reasons unknown to me and my family. It

left US ALL heart broken and

sad. Being the close family that we

are… we did not understand but we knew …

    (ONLY GOD KNOWS WHY)!

We relocated to Houston, Texas (H-Town)

three years after I was born for a BIG

and Brighter future. I grew up on the North

    side of Houston.

    The Riverwood Sub-division, located

off Homestead Road. I graduated from M.

    B. Smiley High School in 1985 (Go Eagles)

and attended Prairie View University (the

    Panthers) on a full

Track scholarship. While in college, I

realized that I was NOT attracted to MEN so

I began to date women and chose the life as a

LESBIAN. Through the life I live I have

experienced that Gay’s and Lesbians are

prejudged by many. I just wanted too set the

record straight and let the WORLD know

some of the challenges WE face.
