Welcome to the world of the
Sista Roses
As you begin to read our stories, in order to get the full experience, you have to put yourself in the situations. What would you do if it was you? Sometimes you have to think outside of the box. We all have our own ways of dealing with things but do understand that we all don’t think like each other. In fact, we all go through similar encounters with men, but we all have our different beginnings. This is not, in any way, judging anyone. We all have stories that could help each other when dealing with a boy or man in our lives. What are Sista Roses? And how does Amy Sophie connect with this group? You will soon find out.
The Sista Roses Oath
Unique in more ways than one, we are TRUTH, SOPHISTICATION, and ROYALTY. Simple problems like attitudes, we may have, but they don’t last because we will be united till the end. Years of venting and tears—we have no fears. We are the ones that heal each other when everybody else tries to break the seal. Roses don’t deal with fakeness, only true friendship. We united as one, we fight as one, and we are a mighty force that can’t be denied. The bond we share is like no other; we complete each other’s personality in a unique way that works for us.
Friendship is based on trust, love, and dedication.
—Amy Sophie
Chapter 1
The Beginning
Hey, world! My name is Mae Austin. Life sure has a way of bringing people around you when you need them. See, I have this group of ladies in my life that have a special part that they bring into a group we call Sista Roses. This group is a source of closure when dealing with life problems. We get together regularly, and when someone is in need of a meeting, we are always around. We came up with the Sista Roses because we all love flowers, so we all pick a rose that describes our personality in some way.
I have a yellow rose.
Laura has a coral one.
Jean has a peach one.
Jade has a lavender one.
So we decided there are no rules in this group; we leave everything on the table—pure honesty. Real friends don’t lie to each other, so we came up with a protection policy wherein we help in any problem without getting mad, just taking the advice to heart, and you choose if you want to go ahead with it or leave it be. Unless we see it as dangerous, then if you decide whether you want to hear it or not, you can’t bring it up again. So we agree to disagree. We also update our dating process; we called this process the cage.
The Cage
The cage is a progress that we put our self through in order to find out if he is worth even going out with. We do it all the time, but you need to know how to fix it to work for you. The name of the game is known as a likeable chance.
This is how it works—instead of jumping right in, you question yourself: How did you feel when the first eye contact happened with him? The first thing that popped up in your head was what? Damn, he looks good
or Interesting
? See, the difference in the encounter with the opposite sex is your mind-set. If you only want sex with a dude, don’t go into it with a relationship attitude.
That’s where we go wrong all the time. If you want sex, treat him
