    CHAPTER ONE

    DARIOUS AND PRIM’S FRIENDS

This story begins in the pre-existence. There are many places that spirits in heaven can go. They have places to socialize and places to create things. They may also take adventurous trips all over the universe and much more. These spirts can flash in an instance to anywhere they may wish to go. Therefore they don’t need any form of transportation like we have.

Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying. Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee: and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto thee nations. Jeremiah 1:4-5

The story opens in a place called The Youth for Learning Hall. We find Prim among the young spirit children of their parents, their Father and Mother in Heaven.

Children, called Prim, I’d like to read you another story before I leave. Would you like me to, children?

Yes, answered the children. What story will you read us this time, Prim? asked little Carrie.

Well, let me see now. How would you like me to read, ‘The Ten Little Ponies?’

    Yes, shouted all the children.

Then one little girl whose name was January came up to Prim and said, Heavenly Mother has read that to us already, Prim.

Well, I’m just going to have to write some more new stories for you then. I’ve already written so many already, and I’ve read most of them to you. I promise that I will write more new stories very soon, she assured the children.

She continued, Is it alright, January, if I read ‘The Ten Little Ponies’ again?

Yes, Prim, I’d love to hear it again. Can you read it as well as Heavenly Mother did? asked January.

I’ll try really hard to do that, January, laughed Prim.

After she finished the story, she gave many of the children hugs and kisses. She then flashed to The Social Gathering Place to find her friend Faith.

When she arrived, she found her friend Faith talking to a male spirit whom she didn’t know.

There you are, Prim. I’ve been waiting a long time for you. Where were you, anyway? asked Faith.

"I was reading to the children, Faith. I told you that I’d be at The Youth for Learning Center helping out. Who’s your friend?" asked Prim.

This is Lair. I’ve actually just met him, Prim, explained Faith.

Then Lair said to Prim, Wow, what a beauty you are, Prim!

Lair has promised to take me to a surprise place, Prim. Would you like to come with us?

No, Faith, you go with Lair and have a good time. I promise, I don’t really mind. We’ll catch up later, Prim assured her.

Prim had promised herself over and over again that she would catch up on creating some new flowers. She had already created a great many of them so far, but hadn’t created the perfect one as yet, at least not the one she wanted to. She then flashed to The Great Library and started working on her perfect flower.

Meanwhile, Darious and his friend Poric were in The House of Reflection. They were discussing the various planets they had visited.

Darious changed the subject and asked, Have you ever thought about what you’ve accomplished in the periods that you have existed?

No, I haven’t. That would be boring. How many periods have you existed so far, Darious? asked Poric.

"I’m not sure. Let me see now. I’ve been out of The Youth for Learning Hall for about six or seven periods, so I’ve existed for about seven periods, I guess, replied Darious. Seven periods! That’s 7,000 years. I’m really old!"

Poric laughed, and said, You’re just a baby, Darious. I’ve existed for thirty some periods.

Why isn’t your light much brighter than mine then? The more periods you’ve existed, the brighter your light should be, right? inquired Darious.

That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day. D & C 50:24

Oh, it’s because I’m a slow learner I guess, and I really don’t care how bright my light is. Do you think that’s wrong, Darious? asked Poric.

Father has given us all the right to choose and you have that right, Poric, but I do think we should all learn as much as we can. Father says his glory came from the way he lived and what had he learned, replied Darious.

He continued, Have you found your soul mate yet? You know, after all, you have really been around a very long time. You must have found one you might think could be your very own soul mate?

Let’s not talk about all this soul mate stuff, okay?

"How many periods do you think the ‘Great Ancient Oneshave existed– you know, the ones they call ‘The Perfects’ Their lights are much brighter than most others I’ve seen," exclaimed Poric.

Oh, I wouldn’t even dare to guess that but I do know they have a lot of meetings with our Father. You know which ones I mean—Jehovah, Michael, Peter, Gabriel and the others. I sometimes wonder what goes on in those meetings, Darious added.

I hear that in some periods in the future, we might be hearing about Father creating an earth for us. I bet that’s one thing they talk about—among other things, of course, replied Poric.

He continued, You know those Great Ancient Ones you mentioned? Well, there are countless billions of ancient ones who aren’t great and only a few who are called the Great Ancient Ones. You knew that didn’t you, Darious?

Yes, I think so. I guess I never thought of it that way. Are you going to the lecture they announced? Peter is going to speak. He’s one of the Great Ancient Ones, Darious inquired.

No, I get bored with their speaking. Besides, I already know all that stuff anyway, and I don’t like their bright lights, either, he told him.

Your light is not even as bright as mine, Poric, and you’ve existed so much longer than I have. I worry that you may not be preparing yourself enough for your upcoming earthly experience, replied Darious.

Oh, that’s a long way off, Darious. I have plenty of time to make my light brighter, said Poric. "I’m going to flash to The Garden of Serenity for a while where I can have some peace and quiet."

    Flash and he was gone.

    CHAPTER TWO

    DARIOUS MEETS PRIM

Darious found himself alone in The Hall of Reflection. He then decided to flash to The Great Library. This was one of Darious’ favorite places.

As he arrived at the library and was walking around, he saw what he thought was the most beautiful female he had ever seen. When he was in The Youth for Learning Hall, as a young male, he had known many of the younger females, and since then, he had existed for some six or seven periods. He had certainly seen many lovely females in times past, but no one like this one.

He walked around the library, looking at her. He pretended to be doing research, which he really did love to do. He kept walking around to get a better look at her.

She looked up and noticed him looking at her. He certainly is a nice looking male, she thought.

She hoped he would come over, but he didn’t, at least not yet. He was beginning to make her feel a little nervous, so she decided to try not to look up again.

Finally, Darious got up the courage to approach her and said, Hi, I’m Darious, and you are?

She looked up and pretended to be a little startled, but smiled, and said, I’m Prim. Would you like to sit with me, Darious?

Darious was a little surprised at her response, but sat straight across from her, so he could just look at her.

You’re staring at me, Darious. Do you do that to all the females you meet? she inquired of him.

"No, Prim, I don’t, but you’re so beautiful I just can’t help myself. I was just thinking, would you like to go to a lecture with me in The Great Lecture Hall? Peter, one of the Great Ancient Ones, is going to speak. I love hearing them all and I don’t think I’ve missed very many of these meetings."

I’m already planning on going with my friend Faith. Would you like to go with us? asked Prim. I don’t think Faith would mind.

Yes, yes, I would. I love your name, Prim. I don’t think I’ve ever heard that name before. Where did it come from and do you know what it means? asked Darious.

My mother gave it to me. She said it was a popular name on the planet that she had gone to, where she was tested, along with our Father. My name means graceful. I do love my name as well. I’m glad you like it too, Darious, she replied.

Yes, I do, and the meaning, I love that too. Graceful, that fits you! he exclaimed.

Now, Darious, how would you know that I’m graceful? I haven’t even gotten out of this chair yet, she laughed.

What was our heavenly mother’s name in her pre-existence life? Also, what was her earthly name where she went to be tested? asked Darious.

Why all the questions, Darious? Maybe when we get to know each other in the future we’ll talk about these things. Why didn’t you ask Mother these things yourself? After all, Darious, she’s your mother, too! replied Prim.

Oh, I guess I never thought about it and I thought if you knew, you’d tell me. Do you know? Darious asked her again.

Yes, I do. Her earthly name was Anna and her pre-existence name was Spring. I like both names. Don’t you, Darious? she asked.

Yes, I do. How many periods have you existed, Prim? Darious inquired.

Darious, we’ve only just met each other! That is, again, very personal, but I’ll tell you if you’ll tell me first.

Well, said Darious, I’ve existed about six, maybe seven periods.

Prim began to smile, Darious, I’ve existed more than twenty.

Really, you’re that much older than I? I knew your brightness was much greater than mine but I thought it was because of your love of learning, said Darious.

Don’t worry, Darious. Mother told me that these periods have nothing to do with how old we are. We will be in our youthful state forever, except when we are called to Earth for our testing.

Do you open up your telepathic waves often you know so we don’t have to talk aloud? asked Darious.

I would like to all the time, but I don’t want everyone to hear what I’m thinking, like right now. Do you know what I’m thinking about you? she asked.

No, I don’t. What are you thinking, Prim? I truly would like to know, because I love you. Oh, I mean, I like you so very much. I can’t believe I just said that! exclaimed Darious.

I can’t believe what I’m going to say either. Maybe I should open my telepathic waves for a minute. Would you like me to do that, Darious? she asked him.

No, Prim, I love hearing your voice so much. Would you tell me out loud? he coaxed her.

I have kind of liked some other males from time to time, but no one has ever hit me like you, Darious. Am I being too forward? she asked him.

Kind of, but I like that in you. Prim, do you think we could ever be soul mates like our heavenly parents? You know, going to earth sometime in the future and passing all the difficult tests that Father would give us. He is always saying to us, ‘When you go to Earth you must endure to the end, and then you can become as I am, able to have many spirit children and create your own worlds.

Darious, you’re thinking way too far into our future, she said.

"You said our future, Prim. I like the sound of that, don’t you?" Darious mumured.

"Yes, Darious, I do, but again, we’ve only known each other this short time. I do like thinking about you possibly being my very own soul mate, though. There I go again! I am being way too forward, aren’t I? I guess I am. I had better say goodbye for now. I’m going to flash to The Serenity Gardens, to try and find my friend Faith. That’s usually where I find her." Prim said.

May I come with you, Prim? he asked.

No, Darious, I have a lot of thinking to do about us, and I want to talk to Faith about all of this. I can’t believe what has happened to us in these last few minutes! she exclaimed. She then said, Good-bye, Darious, see you soon. Flash and she was gone.

Darious sat alone, thinking where he would flash to next. Maybe he would go spy on Prim and Faith. No, that would not be right.

I really like flashing though, he thought. "I remember that it took me a long time to learn how to flash when I was in The Youth for Learning Hall. Now I can flash anywhere in Father’s world any time I wish."

Later, he was anxiously looking forward to going to the lecture with Prim. He thought, I hope Faith doesn’t come. When I see Prim again, I am going to ask her to go with me to one of the other planets on one of those learning adventure trips.

When anyone goes to another planet, they are required to go to The Main Flashing Place. It was always exciting going to these other planets. Many spirits had learned about creating new and interesting things from these worlds that they had visited in the past.

Darious thought, I wish our world had mountains on it like some of the other worlds I have been to. Our world is so flat, just like a sea of glass. Mountains are unbelievably so very beautiful on some of those other planets. I have watched as some of the Great Ancient Ones created them on some of my adventure trips. Someday I hope I will be able to do it as well, he was wishing.

"I think I will flash to The Music Creation Center. I am going to create a song just for Prim and me. It will be our song, that is, if she likes it. Prim is the sweetest, gentlest, and kindest spirit I have ever known, and I do love her. I guess that I earlier slipped and told her so. I cannot believe she feels the same way toward me, and in our first encounter! Well, off to The Music Creation Center I go," he concluded.

    CHAPTER THREE

    QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Prim arrived at The Serenity Garden, but Faith was nowhere to be found. She wondered if maybe she had gone to The Place of Refreshment instead, or maybe The Garden of Wisdom. I wonder, she thought to herself, where Lair could have taken her.

"I think I will try The Garden of Wisdom first," she decided.

    Flash

There you are, Faith. Where’s Lair?

"He left not long ago. He took me to a place I’ve never seen before, A place called The Wonders of the Universe. It was unbelievable. I’ll have to take you there. You’ll love it, Prim," exclaimed Faith.

Faith continued, "I was waiting for you in The Serenity Gardens but that Poric character was there and kept wanting to talk to me. I don’t like that male at all so I came here," replied Faith.

I have some exciting news to tell you, or at least I think it is! cried Prim.

Please tell me. I bet it’s about a male, right? pleaded Faith.

"Yes, you’re right. I met a male, named Darious. I met him in The Great Library just a little while ago. I can’t really explain this, but I think he may be my future soul mate," related Prim.

You’re crazy, Prim. Father hasn’t even announced the creation of an earth for us yet! It may be many periods before he does and a thousand years is a long time, even just for one period! exclaimed Faith.

I don’t care. I think he’s the one! He even feels the same as I do! Now that really makes me kind of sure, said Prim.

Faith began to laugh, So, you’re kind of sure? That doesn’t sound positive at all to me.

Darious has asked me to go to the lecture that Peter is giving. I told him you and I were already planning on going and I asked if he would like to come along, Prim commented.

It’s okay with me, Prim. Besides, I want to meet this soul mate of yours. By the way, is he cute? asked Faith.

Oh, yes, very much so. I’m sure you’ll agree when you meet Darious. I even love his name, replied Prim.

I guess that means you’ll be spending a lot more time with this Darious. What are his interests anyway? Have you even asked? questioned Faith.

No, I just met him, Faith, and yes, I hope we will be spending more time together. I promise I will still spend time with you too, Prim reassured her.

"I love this Garden of Wisdom. You can ask any question and the answer just comes into your mind. I love to meditate for long periods of time while I’m here. One thing I asked was, ‘What is darkness?’ We have always been in the light. I have heard people talk about darkness, but I still did not understand it. Now I do. Would you like to hear about this idea of dark or darkness?" asked Faith.

I think I already know what it is or what it means, but first you tell me what it is and I’ll add to it what I know, okay? replied Prim.

Well, some planets have times that are light and times that are dark. They call them days and nights, I think. Dark means, well like, covering your eyes or closing them really tight. That’s darkness. That is what happens on planets that have part light and part dark. I wonder if the earth Father will make for us will be like ours, having light all the time or if the earth will have some darkness, said Faith.

"You’ve explained it very well, Faith. I also have spent a lot of time here in The Garden of Wisdom, and I asked another question that goes along with the darkness question. I asked why some planets have darkness and I was answered that some people on these light and dark planets have bodies that require sleep, and that they sleep about one-third of the time. Now that is really strange. Who would want to give up one-third of their time sleeping in the dark? I never heard of that before. We use all of our time learning, developing our talents and creating things. We get all the energy we need from our planet’s vibrations and solar light," said Prim.

I have another question that I just thought of. If these people on the light and dark planets sleep one-third of the time, is that how they get their energy to survive? asked Faith.

I’m not sure. Let’s ask, said Prim.

They both closed their eyes, and began to concentrate. Soon they both opened their eyes with strange looks on their faces.

That’s really weird, Prim. They not only sleep, but they eat food too. They eat all kinds of plants and animals for their energy. How awful is that? I wonder if that will happen to us someday? asked Faith.

I hope we never have to eat animals. Ew, I can’t stand the thought, can you, Faith? asked Prim. I love all the animals, and would never want to eat one.

I’m sorry we even asked that question but let’s not tell anyone about this, okay? I want to put it out of my mind for sure, pleaded Faith.

"I think we’ve spent enough time in The Garden of Wisdom. Let’s Flash to somewhere else. Where would you like to go, Faith?" asked Prim.

"How about going to The Social Gathering Place, or maybe The Field of Dreams?"

I love those places too, replied Prim. I have learned how I can make some of my wonderful thoughts become reality. Some really do come true.

"Hey, I know. Let’s go to The Music Creation Center. I’m right in the middle of three different songs and I haven’t finished any of them," said Faith.

That sounds great. I am in the middle of writing a symphony of sorts, but I am about ready to give up on it. I think I will try some easier fun songs. Will you help me? Maybe we could write some songs together, suggested Prim.

That sounds fun. Let’s go! shouted Faith.

    CHAPTER FOUR

    THE MUSIC CREATION CENTER

As Faith and Prim entered The Music Creation Center, Prim saw Darious with another male playing an instrument she had never seen before. She had heard that there were thousands of instruments. It would take many periods to learn even a few hundred of them.

Faith, I see Darious. See those two males just ahead? asked Prim.

Yes, I do. Which one is Darious? Faith thought she knew one of them.

He’s the one who isn’t playing the instrument. Isn’t he cute, Faith? Prim asked.

    I guess so, said Faith.

You guess so. What’s that supposed to mean? Aren’t you happy for me, just a little, Faith?

"You aren’t going to believe this. I know your Darious. We were in The Youth for Learning Hall at the same time. I had forgotten his name though. He is very nice looking. I am glad and happy for you, Prim," explained Faith.

Faith approached Darious with a big smile, and hugged him.

Hi, old friend. We haven’t seen each other for at least 2 or 3 periods. How are you, Darious? Faith asked.

I’m fine, Faith. Good to see you again too. Darious then said to Prim, "I didn’t expect to see you again so
