Foreword

I’ve known Barbara many years. I’ve always seen her as a powerful healer, writer, and an angel of inspiration to so many spiritual seekers, including me. And now, I’m delighted to add to that list, she’s also a channeller.

In this book you will find much wisdom from the higher realms, Barbara’s Magdaleine Group. This group of wise and powerful beings will make you realize how wise and powerful you are yourself. They remind us what most of us have long ago forgotten – who we are and why we are here.

I know, from personal experience, how much courage it takes to put yourself into the public eye – and to get your work out to the world. It’s not always easy, especially in the beginning. But you know you have to do it, because that’s why you were guided to do the work to begin with. So I applaud Barbara for her courage.

As I read through Barbara’s book, the wisdom of The Magdaleine Group’s words, and the powerful energy they radiate, are amazing. Reading the book is a healing, uplifting experience like few others I’ve ever had.

I want to share a personal healing story that demonstrates the group’s thoughts about healing. Here’s part of what they say in the book:

Your soul will assist you at any time. As we discussed in the previous chapter, spirit will always lend you its strength and your soul will always also lend you its strength because you are part of it....And so the power and strength and love and healing abilities are available to you at any time.

One night I was baking my dinner in the oven. When it was done I removed the hot pan and placed it on the stove top. A moment later, without thinking, I picked up the pan with my bare hand. A searing pain surged through my hand and up my arm. I dropped the pan and stared in disbelief at the huge red burn marks in the palm of my hand.

My hand was throbbing. I placed my other hand on the burned one and visualized healing energies pouring into it for a few moments. I asked Spirit for all the help they could send me. My burned hand still hurt. But the pain had subsided, though the burn marks looked dreadful.

The next morning I’d forgotten all about the incident. My hand didn’t hurt any more. So I wasn’t even thinking about it. Later that day, remembering the burn, I looked at my hand. It was normal. The burn marks had vanished and there was no pain or discomfort whatsoever. A serious burn had completely healed in less than 24 hours.

Spirit works in wondrous ways if we only ask for help when we need it! As the group says in the book, ...healing abilities are available to you at any time.

The Magdaleine Group calls their messages illuminations. That’s the perfect word, as you will be illuminated as you read through Barbara’s book.

Introduction

As you read this book you will notice a different use of language and phraseology than is found in most books. This is because many spirit guides, including my own, use language differently. It is my perception that they do this to convey messages in rhythm and vibration as well as the words themselves.

As a channeller converting the spoken word to the written word you face a decision. Do you write as the words were spoken or convert the message into more commonly accepted written language? It was my wish to convey spirit’s words as accurately and authentically as possible, so I decided to write this as closely to the way I received it as possible. I trust therefore, that our readers, being so connected with us as you are, will benefit from all the layers of energy contained within the messages, or as spirit calls them, Illuminations.

The First Pangs of Isolation

For many, the physical body is a difficult experience. The feeling of isolation when you have come from us, which is connection, which is all are one, which is energy flowing, which is no secrets, which is no talking, which is no ego, which is oneness with everything.

It is creation, it is love, it is understanding and being understood to the point that there is no striving, there is not even a discussion. It is known. It would be as ridiculous as you meeting another human being and saying Hello, are you breathing today? for us to say to each other, Hello, do you understand me? It would be the same, it would be absurd.

So, given that level of intimacy, that vibration of love and connection, when the soul comes into the physical body the feeling of isolation can be extreme. And that is why mothers want to cuddle babies immediately, and the best practices are to allow that. But still, in many, many millions of cases, it is not allowed and so the baby is born in to this..... you see we are struggling for words because the feeling is like that!

The feeling of aloneness can be devastating and some people never get over that. They are seeking and striving, seeking and striving. Some of the insane things you see in the world are caused by that feeling of aloneness in the tiny baby, just born.

The soul has come into human form, and in the human form initially it is within the mother so there is still a closeness. It is only when the child is born, especially with the bright lights and men with green masks and all of that, which many people know is not nature’s way, it is not love’s way. It is technical and hospitalised and surgical, and that leads to the scared feelings in the small babies.

There are many movements on the planet towards water births and dark candle-lit, meditative music, whale music birthing rooms, and, of course, that is a much more gentle entrance into the world.

But also you have to remember that it is all planned by the soul for the lessons. So the isolation would be something of a challenge for the soul, not for the crying baby, to say I feel this isolation. It is not real because I am really a soul. My friends are right there. I am still with them.

But you see, there is a challenge of remembering, and some people never ever meet that challenge until they come home. Others get it slowly and still others get it intellectually, but they don’t get the feel of it sometimes. There is much seeking which stems from that new-born feeling of isolation, of not fitting in.

How many of you and your friends have felt that not-fitting-in feeling? And yet you are the greatest thinkers, the greatest healers, the greatest spiritual teachers because you had the not-fitting-in experience. So you were actually blessed by not fitting in because you didn’t get sucked into thinking inside the box. We are thinking of thinking inside the television box because that is a very appropriate way of imagining it. Anything which is inside that, 99.9% of what is
