Jessica and the Mysterious Island
()
About this ebook
This is the story about a spoiled girl named Jessica. She was from a wealthy family who lived in a skyscraper in downtown New York City. Her friends were just as rich as she was. Jessica and her friends often went shopping to spend their parents money. They all had credit cards with no limits on them. Their parents never cared how much they sent.
How does Jessica get on such a remote island that isn't even on any map? Is there anyone else on this island? Is the island a dangerous place?
Poor Jessica will learn many lessons while on this island, because there aren't any conveniences, period! This is surely going to be very hard for a spoiled rich girl.
I hope you'll enjoy Jessica's adventures on this mysterious island.

Chapter One
Spoiled Jessica
Jessica has always lived in New York City. Her parents were wealthy, and lived in a very fancy condominium in one of the skyscrapers right in downtown New York City. She just had turned thirteen, and had had a huge party with over a hundred kids from her school. Jessica loved clothes, and had a large wardrobe with two big walk-in closets full of clothes and shoes. Her mother had promised her that she could get rid of her nanny this year, but her nanny hadn't left yet.
One morning, Jessica had just gotten out of bed and wandered down the hall to her mother's bedroom. Her mother was on the phone.
Mother,
called Jessica, what time is it? I can't find my alarm clock!
Jane, Jessica's nanny, heard them talking and entered.
Jessica, ask Jane. I'm on the phone,
replied her mother.
Jane then responded to her, It's 8:50 a.m., Miss Jessica. I didn't find you in your bedroom, and then I heard you and your mother talking. May I assist you in getting dressed after your shower?
As they walked down the long hallway returning to Jessica's bedroom Jessica replied, No, I'll do it today, but fix my breakfast and bring it up to my room right away. You know this is Saturday and our cook is off today. Hurry, Jane, I'm starving.
I'll do it right away, Miss Jessica.
Wait, Jane. When are you leaving? You know I've had my thirteenth birthday, and am not a child anymore. Mother said you'd be gone after that, as only children need a nanny.
Your Mother is going to Tahiti tomorrow on business, and you and your father will be joining her in about ten days. I will be leaving after that, Miss Jessica.
"My mother never said anything to me about going to Tahiti. I'm not going to go to Tahiti in ten days, and that's that!"
Jessica then remembered that she was planning on going to the mall with Crystal this morning. She quickly called her friend. Hi, Crystal! We are going to the mall this morning, aren't we?
Yes, Jessica, we are. Am I picking you up, or are you picking me up?
Ronald, my chauffeur, will pick you up. Be ready at eleven, Crystal.
Yes, I will be ready,
acknowledged Crystal. I wish I had my very own chauffeur like you, Jessica. I have to use my mother's, that is, if she isn't using him already.
See you at eleven then! I must hurry, Crystal. I have just gotten up and I'm a mess. Jane is getting my breakfast. She's taking forever! I'll see you soon.
Just then Jane entered Jessica's bedroom. Here's your breakfast, just like you like it.
Finally...just set it over there on my dresser! Oh, and I will need your help after all in fixing my hair and getting me dressed. First, I'll take a quick shower. I'll just be about ten minutes or so.
Yes, Miss Jessica, I'll be right here. Can I lay out any clothes for you?
Yes, Jane. Pull out my pink jeans and several of my tops to pick from.
Miss Jessica, don't you want to eat your breakfast before you shower?
No, I'm not that hungry, Jane. Just save the orange juice and the toast. You can get rid of the rest.
After about twenty minutes she came out of her bathroom with her robe on. I think I'll wear my hair like I did yesterday, Jane. I can hardly wait to be on my own without a nanny, not that I don't love you, Jane. I'm just too old to need a nanny now. I will miss you though, I really will!
Jessica had been raised by Jane since she was a baby. Jessica's parents were always busy with their professions, and away from home most of her life.
1.jpgJust then her mother came into her bedroom. Jessica, I'm going to Tahiti on business tomorrow morning.
"I know, Mother. Jane has already informed me of that. Why are you just telling me about this vacation idea of yours now? How can I ever plan my days if you pull something like this Tahiti thing on me?"
It was a last minute business decision, that's why. You and your father will be joining me in about ten days. I thought this just may be a great time for all of us to be together for a vacation.
"That's really funny, Mother! We haven't had a vacation for more than five or six years. Why now? I'm not going, Mother! A friend of mine at school named Aaron might be taking me to a concert in a few days. He also said he wants me to join him on his parent's horse ranch soon."
"Well, that will just have to wait for another time, Jessica. I certainly can't leave you here alone, with no one to look after you, can I?"
Jane could stay on until you get back, couldn't you, Jane?
I'm not sure that's possible now, Jessica.
"Jessica, Jane is leaving us in ten days. She now has other employment, and so you will be coming with your father to Tahiti!"
It was almost getting to be 11 a.m. when Jessica picked up her cell phone. Ronald, be out in front in five minutes. I'm going to the mall.
She rushed to take the elevator down to meet her chauffeur, Ronald. He wasn't there yet. She waited impatiently. About two minutes had passed when her chauffeur finally pulled up in front. He jumped out of the limousine and opened the door for her.
Ronald, I said five minutes, not seven or eight. My parents pay you a lot of money to be ready whenever I call. If you can't do better than that, I'll tell my father to fire you! Do you understand, Ronald?
she shouted.
Yes, Miss Jessica, I do understand. Did you need to go anywhere else before I take you to the mall?
Of course, Ronald, I'm not going to the mall all by myself! We have to go to pick up my friend, Crystal. You know we always do everything together!
Which mall are you going to this time, Miss Jessica?
The same one, we usually go to! The trunk better be empty, Ronald! I'm not sure what we'll be buying yet.
Yes, Miss Jessica, the trunk is empty. Will we be picking anyone else up besides Crystal?
No, just Crystal this time.
Just before they arrived, Jessica called Crystal on her cell phone.
Crystal, I'm finally on my way. Meet me down in front of your building, okay? Don't be late in getting there either, or I might just call Clair to go with me instead!
Yes, I'm on my way down right now. Oh, and can we pick up Kaylee and Jody? They called me this morning and they can't find a ride. Both of their mothers are using their chauffeur's already. I told them that you have your very own chauffeur, and would be glad to pick them up. I hope it's all right that I told them that, Jessica. Besides, it will be more fun with them along, right?
Yes, I guess. I really don't like Kaylee that much, but I'll try and put up with her. I'm glad Jody is coming. She is really good at telling me how to pick out just the right outfits that go together, better than what I ever could by myself.
As they arrived, Crystal entered Jessica's limousine. Jessica then related. My mother is making me go to Tahiti in ten days with my father. I don't want to go, but I guess I'll have to. I was maybe going to go with Aaron to visit his parent's horse ranch sometime soon. I guess that opportunity may be gone now. I just hate it when I'm told I have to do something I don't want to do!
Can I go with you to Tahiti, Jessica? My parents are never around. They wouldn't even miss me. I'm sure they would let me go. Please, ask your father if I could go too. I've never been to Tahiti before!
No, Crystal, I know my father wouldn't let me have a friend along. You know my father hates me having my friends over. The only reason I was able to have my birthday party with so many of my friends was that he was out of town. I do wish you could come though.
Jessica then instructed Ronald to also stop for Kaylee and Jody. Finally all the girls were off on their shopping spree. The girls always had a wonderful time spending their parent's money. They all had no limit credit cards. Their parents never cared how much they spent.
As the noon hour approached, Jessica had made a lot of purchases, as had the other girls. Jessica then ordered Kaylee, Kaylee, take some of these bags for me. You haven't bought hardly anything yet. I should have made Ronald come with us to carry our boxes and bags.
You say that every time, Jessica. Is that why you allowed me to come with you? I'll help you, but saying you'll make your chauffeur tag along with us next time? I don't think so!
Kaylee laughed.
Jessica just stared at her and responded, If you don't want to, Kaylee, I'm sure Jody would be glad to.
Trying to change the subject, Crystal interrupted saying, I'm starved. Let's go to the food court and grab some lunch.
Sounds like a great idea, Crystal,
agreed Kaylee.
As they arrived at the food court they saw some boys from their school.
Jessica, there's Fredrick,
whispered Jody.
I hate Fredrick,
said Crystal. He thinks he's so cool.
Crystal, everyone likes Fredrick, except you! I don't know what your problem is!
expressed Jessica.
Kaylee then interrupted, Well, Jessica, maybe you're the one with the problem. I don't like Fredrick either.
Jessica, then angrily glared at Kaylee, about
