One Easter morning back in the late 1940s, my mother helped me put on my new Easter dress.
“Now sit still and stay out of trouble while I get ready for church. I won't take long,” Mom promised.
“I'll be as good as silver,” I said.
Mom smiled. “You mean as good as gold.”
I nodded. “As good as gold,” I agreed.
