    We believe there is a divine plan and purpose for your life. And, of course, clarity will ease the way to defining clear action plans and steps to achieving your goals and dreams. Life can often be chaotic, which is why it is so important to purge and quiet the mind. Have you ever met someone you considered to be the calm in the storm? That can be you! Have you ever wondered how to get to that place? What do you say we get started? Before we break down the role of the mind, let’s define the mind. Merriam-Webster offers up the following:

    1. Element or complex of elements in an individual that feels, perceives, thinks, wills, and especially reasons

    2. Conscious mental events and capabilities in an organism

    3. Organized conscious and unconscious adaptive mental activity of an organism

    Our take on the mind is an energetic element of body that develops and changes according to one’s thoughts, actions, and lived experiences. Saying the word mind typically conjures up the word thought, in particular private thoughts that no one else knows about unless shared. The mind is so powerful it allows us to strike up a conversation with ourselves to plan and decide to do something. The mind is also sacred. Things that anchor the mind flow from what the mind can do, which is: think, memorize, and visualize.

    The word think may remind us of the bronze and marble sculpture by Auguste Rodin of the Thinking Man. Again, thinking is a private mental activity between you and yourself. It allows you to make sense of what you perceive is happening or what you are creating in the world around you. It is an opportunity to give pause to silence. On the other hand, you may think out loud, affirming your desired outcomes and ideal life. Do you have your ideal life committed to memory?

    The most basic meaning of the word memorize is to commit something to memory or in essence to learn by heart. Brain research has shown when you memorize billions of neurons are basically having a conversation with one another. They are firing signals together through neural paths to create lasting connections. When those same connections can re-fire straightaway, guess what? You have memorized. For example, do you have your mobile phone number memorized? Do you remember your name or your parents’ names? More than likely you do. Do you remember the make and model of your favorite car when you see it? Do you get excited when you see it? Associating images with words cannot only help improve memory, but it can conjure up emotions—good or bad. And, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Ah yes, the power of
