Food for Thought...
It was once said that a novice built the ark and professionals built the Titanic... Guess which one sunk?
LOL is written by two young girls, Laurece and Leanne who are novices. But they have a dream that they can build an ark to help young girls like themselves.

Mission statement
LOL is a practical tool created by the now
generation of young girls. It empowers young girls to LOVE THEIR LIVES and in so doing, then they can LAUGH OUT LOUD and share LOTS OF LOVE to a world filled with hurting and lonely young girls. Laurece and Leanne’s aim is to help at least one girl... and in so doing, help our world!
Aims
Our aim is to share our stories, and the experiences of ourselves and other young girls. We want to send across the message that we can make it through our struggles with the help of those who love and support us.
Objectives
1. Sharing true-life stories.
2. Fact sheets of current issues affecting young girls.
3. Workshops and training in churches, schools and other community projects to help and support girls.
4. To support and help girls express themselves.
5. To evaluate ourselves and one another to be stronger and confident young girls of today’s society.
6. To encourage talking to counselors, helpers, family and teachers.
7. LOL Day—the international celebration of young girls day.
Now, This is Our Story...
In January 2007, both Laurece and Leanne were experiencing common events faced by young preteens and teenage girls. Laurece had become friends with an unsavory character, but in her eyes this was her friend. One she trusted. Against the inclinations of her sister, cousin and mother, Laurece trusted this friend totally, only to experience the most devastating series of events of jealousy, betrayal, lies and deceit hurled at her. The extent of the devastation is beyond anyone’s comprehension, unless one has been through this themself. For Leanne, a bright, beautiful preteen, battled with the teasing and criticism of her features by some children which resulted in her doubting her own outer and inner beauty. She became frustrated and the struggle to prevent self-hate became unbearable.
Realizing the issues that many teenage girls face today, the sad reality is reflected in statistics that show many girls become victims of drug abuse,
