About this ebook

Life is a journey, and within the journey, there is a race, and in the race, there are lanes. Every man has his lane where he runs his race. If you run your race on someone elses lane, he determines how much you are paid, how you spend your time, and when you spend it. Everyone has an arrival time that is unique to their race. My arrival time may not be your arrival time, but that doesnt mean I wont arrive. We are all wired differently. You may be wired to kill Goliath, but I am wired to build the temple. You may be wired to be the next king, but I am wired to anoint the king for endorsement. Every destiny on the face of the earth is important, and there is a connection.

You will learn the following:
what the journey is all about and how to recognize it
the race of life and how to recognize when youre running on someone elses lane
how to switch to your lane and run your race successfully
who the master over your life is and how to exit the wrong master
how to discern moments and seasons
how to understand and recognize the spirit of Eli
how to make choices and stay committed to them
how to maximize the spoon you were born with and how to use it to your benefit in the marketplace
how to create an environment of success

    Introduction

Don’t judge me by my past because the present you are celebrating will soon pass away and another future birthed. Even my resume is my past, so if you judge me by my resume you are making a mistake.

There is always something to be conquered, so stick with me, rather than stalk me with your gossip. Life is beautiful with all the troubles and challenges; without them it would have been boring. Just like a game of football, if the referee plays God and is perfect, there would be no news report, journalists will lose their jobs and some TV stations will close up. Your message today is borne out of the mess you went through.

A warrior is called a warrior because he went to war and came back victorious. 99.9 percent of the solutions we need is in our hands. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6). The day you start getting anxious, you lose everything. Anxiety is a result of faithlessness and the fruit can be a heart attack, failures, and all sort of mistakes.

If you cannot add or remove a hair from your head or can’t say how it grows, why worry about stuff? The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.

I have learned so many lessons in life, and they are borne from either experience or by revelation from God. God is not the author of confusion; our God is wise, and He has a plan. You will win!!!!

    Lesson 1

    THE JOURNEY

Everyone must take a journey of some sort or another in life, traveling from point A to point B. Life, they say, is a journey, and the journey, whether it is ten miles or a thousand miles, must have a starting point.

There are some ingredients you must look for in life as you begin the journey towards your destiny. We often hear that no man was created just to occupy space, and you are not a mistake on Earth. Even though your parents may have told you they didn’t plan you, God planned you. He said, The thoughts that I have for you are for good, not for evil …, so how can you still think that you are a mistake?

The journey started when your parents met, even if it was the ugliest of circumstances. Rape, infidelity, fidelity, whatever it is, before they conceived it in their heart, God already had a plan and equipped you for the journey He had for you. He said, Before you were formed in your mother’s womb, I knew you. So you didn’t just happen—you were planned by the One Who owns you.

The greatest mistake people make in life is to think that they were a mistake, and they hold that view for a long time. That can discourage efforts to become productive in life. It also can lead to bitterness and depression. Life is a journey, and the mode of transportation from one point to another is important; you don’t want to take the journey with excess luggage that is full of hurts from the past that you didn’t have any control over.

Life is just like two people taking a journey that’s as long as 100km. One decides to take the fastest route, but the other one takes the legal, slower route. Just because you took the shortest route doesn’t mean you will get there before the person that took the longer route. You can use the fastest car on earth and I walked. I could still get to the destination before you, because on the journey of life, there are bumps that may slow a car down, but allow someone on foot to manage. It’s God that determines who gets there first by grace.

A story comes to mind in 1 Kings, chapter 18, when Elijah ran past Ahab when the spirit of God came upon him. Ahab had gone ahead of him and was aided. Elijah was on foot and was not aided; he was empowered by the Holy Ghost. It’s the Spirit of God Who enables mankind, while they’re on their journey in life.

One thing you must guard against in this journey is the process of wasting time during your journey. Some people in the journey prefer the comfort of the journey more than the comfort of their destination. What is the use of flying a business elite class to my destination and then jump on a train, tram, or bus to my one room apartment? I have no point to prove; I only have to leave a mark in life.

I’d rather take a bus during the journey and get business class treatment at my destination. The length of the journey and the importance of the journey determine the preparation for the journey. Before you embark on a journey, there are certain things you need to put in place as you prepare.

PREPARATION FOR THE JOURNEY OF LIFE

The first thing you must do in the journey is prepare. When you do not prepare, you are already preparing to fail. The preparation also determines the depth of your journey. Just like the road you may face, or some of the following conditions, but your preparation ahead of it will distinguish you.

    TRAFFIC

When you leave your home in the mornings, driving to the office on a busy road and the traffic is heavy, you get to work late. You’re unsettled and not happy. When you drive back home again after work, you get caught up in the same kind of traffic, you are not happy. So also is the journey of life. There are distractions that are likened to the early morning traffic and the after work traffic for those who work in busy cities I am sure you understand what I am talking about.

One major cause of this is that you started your journey late and certain things you were not supposed to see you started to see on the way. That you also started your journey late doesn’t mean you won’t get to your destination, but you could have avoided the go slow process and avoided all the time you spent on the road, if only you did one thing. You must ask God and be sensitive to when He says to move. Any man that is sensitive to the stirring of the waters cannot face delays on this journey. There are delays that God Himself orchestrates to clear the way or avert a danger ahead. We have heard many stories of people getting delayed, and they realize at the end that the delay actually saved their lives.

This is different and when you are experiencing this traffic, you will certainly know. Sometimes when you are in, it’s too late to retrieve your steps because you are always caught in between the traffic. No turning; no movement. But I have good news for you; when you are in there, you can come out of it and make it to your destination. All you need to do is ask the Master (Jesus Christ) of the journey for help. He can turn situations around. But you have to be sure you are born again. In front of the battle is not the place to check to see if you are born again. Some times the reason you are in a gridlock in life could be you were suppose to walk to your destination not ride. At this point get out of the Car and walk to your destination

    BUMPS

In the journey of life there are bumps and potholes that may occur once in a while. It isn’t that they have come to kill you. They are there to discourage you from reaching your destination. They are there to give you a rough ride on your journey. Just like the car on the road that needs good shock absorbers—you need some shock absorbers, as well. Friends may disappoint you; brothers may disappoint you; these are all bumps to stop you.

No matter how steep it is, an SUV must come out of the bumpy road clean. You sometimes have to switch on your SUV character when you’re on the journey. You need to be strong and courageous. You have to wire yourself for all these bumps; hence, one bump you are done. A driver makes sure he services
