About this ebook

The Declaration of Independence proclaims that we believe all men to be created equally. It is true that all men are created equally, but all men are not the same. From a biblical perspective, God is not a respecter of persons (Romans 2:11). He is not, but we are. Our differences affect individual concepts of self and our relationships to other people in the world. Diversity causes problems with identity and identity is a creation issue. Any issue that stands between the individual and the Creator must be dealt with.

Broken Pieces is a diary of poems about the authors trials and personal life experiences from a very long and difficult period of isolation, confusion and depression. It also contains a testimony of spiritual revelation of hope and peace. The goal of this book is to enlighten, to motivate others and to enhance self awareness, self love and clarity for purpose.

Author

Rose Marie Kemp Simon

Rose Simon believes that change involves a return to traditional values at a time when the standards of virtue in the foundations of our culture are being attacked and compromised. She believes that the processes of individual and personal asking, seeking and knocking in the Holy Scriptures help to generate the Divine inspiration and guidance necessary to rethink and hopefully restructure social learning for spiritual growth and development. As an intercessory prayer warrior in this generation, Rose expresses the urgent commitment and renewed dedication of women and mothers especially, to establish and build strong and healthy families spiritually, mentally and physically for the ongoing stability of our nation and the world. Rose Simon received a bachelor’s degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX and a Masters degree from the Houston Graduate School of Theology.

    Introduction to the Poetry

This book contains what I call a personal diary of life trial breakthroughs in poetic verse. These poems were written at different phases of my spiritual and emotional growth and development and do not necessarily appear in written order. To some degree, the feelings expressed may even suggest a need for more growth, which actually goes without saying. However, the point of it all is to finally fulfill a personal goal of testimony.

These poems cry out from anger, frustration, desperation, hurt, fear, pain, and isolation. It is a diary of secret feelings that would normally be kept hidden for the sake of appearances. Even now, I have mixed emotions about exposing so much of myself. I have come to know and realize, nevertheless, that it is not about me. I am sharing experiences and feelings that others may have walked through along this journey of life, and I send them forth like a bird that sings in a tree or like a flower that blooms by the side of the road. It is a natural and spiritual response to my life written down. Some of it—most of it is not pretty, but life is still awesome! It is exhilarating and exciting, not only because of what we do or what we have, but because we are on a spiritual journey to learn more everyday about what naturally flows within us when we stop to take the time to get to know ourselves from a Divine perspective.

Jesus, called the Son of man and the Savior of the world, was born with a purpose that He never let anything or anyone keep Him from realizing and fulfilling. He provided a way to save humanity from eternal damnation with great love and at the same time genuine respect for individual choice with regard to the way we choose to live this life. I believe and trust Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He is my hope beyond all hope; all power in heaven and earth belongs to Him. I pray that nothing is written here that would be offensive to anyone.

These poems represent testimonials of difficult times and the inspiration I received to persevere. Tina, is the first inspired poem that I received at the age of 12. I lost my father after the first nine months of my life. I have always carried a sense of insecurity and grief because of that. Something about this poem
