Sateara always hugged me and told me she loved me from the very first moment we met. I could feel in my spirit that she was not just saying she loves her brothers and sisters in Christ. Her love is true.

    Introduction

    Broken

ˈbrōkən: Having been fractured or damaged and no longer in one piece or in working order.

For now, we will deal with this simple, yet profound definition of the word broken. Anything that is broken cannot function properly. Not only can it not function properly, but it doesn’t possess the quality or characteristics to do so. After coming to this conclusion about myself, I was prompted to write this book in my alone time. Then, a week later, the title of this book and me being an author was confirmed by two of God’s vessels. I was so overjoyed that God thought that much of me. I was worthy of writing a book based upon my hurts, mistakes and most importantly, triumphs as it relates to this gigantic world? I feel like God has given me His stamp of approval to share my story. God revealed the wounds in my life. As He revealed, He healed! One day, I was washing clothes and I happened to look down. I saw one of London’s toy pieces. It happened to be a heart-shaped piece of cardboard that read, 52 pieces. It came out of one of her Lisa Frank stationery kits. As I was about to discard it, the Holy Spirit said, Your heart is in 52 pieces. You need to be healed. Take one week at a time within the next year and receive my healing. That was December 2012. It is now years later! I am empowered to write to you! Enjoy and be free from all that ails you!

Before we begin, I want to let you know that the experiences that I share in this body of work are to enlighten the reader. I am in no way attempting to incriminate anyone’s character or diminish the influence of anyone mentioned in this book. Please be mindful that my life’s journey is a reflection of God’s sovereignty in my life. We are all products of our environment and we wouldn’t be who are today had we not experienced the good with the bad. I truly thank God for my upbringing and my support system.

I had the privilege of being groomed in the things of God my entire life. I’ve
