About this ebook

This book identifies with my suffering and where it came from. Suffer No More can help guide you to freedom from addiction and any character defect that identifies you. When we are born, we are born with a sinful nature, and until we find God, there is no freedom from our sinful nature. Unless you believe in Christ as your personal Savior, you will struggle with the issues of sin for the rest of your life. But if you accept Christ as your Savior, you are then set free from your old sinful nature by the power of Jesus.

Suffer No More is just to help people see the light from all their darkness and to help people find freedom. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Jesus paid the penalty. He willingly took on his body all the punishment that we deserved so we wouldnt have to. He died on the cross for all our sins so we could be set free and be made righteousness in God through Christ Jesus, if we are willing to turn our life over to his care.

Allow him to do the work in and through you by his Holy Spirit, and I promise you, you will be set free. Do the twelve steps to the best of your ability, and God will do beyond what you could ever dream or imagine. I pray this book will lead many to Christ.

    INTRODUCTION

T HIS BOOK IS meant to point you to your Saviour. The desire of my heart is that my book will unlock for you the treasures of the truth; that Jesus is our Healer.

Doing the 12 Step Overcomers helped me become aware of my will and also how the enemy operates. I want to share my recovery with anyone who is in a battle. I want you to come to the place where you recognize though we struggle, the battle belongs to the Lord.

In my struggles today I have learned to take joy because I put my trust in Jesus; He has overcome the enemy. I want you to understand how when I learned how to turn my troubles over to God. How He not only took care of the trouble, but how I learned to renewed my mind in His Word. His Word has been powerful and effective in my life. As I immersed myself in His Word strongholds were being broken and character defects were being removed, and replaced with the Fruit of the Spirit. I want you to know that He who the Son sets free is unquestionably free. [John 8:36] this is my example to you to help you with ny truths and what worked for me I pray this will help many.

    CHAPTER 1

    My Story

H ELLO, MY NAME is Sandra and I am a recovered addict. This book is about my life of disfunction, it’s about my childhood, about where my behaviour started to follow my thinking. As a child, I grew up in a dysfunctional home.

Fear came into my life very early. I didn’t feel loved as there were no emotions such as hugging or kisses on the cheek or tuck ins at night. My home was strict and I had to behave. My parents loved me the way they were taught, or the way they willed to. My Dad was an alcoholic and. He was absent a lot, that left my Mom in charge with the weight of having to carry, the load of raising us pretty much alone. My Mom was fun sometimes, but for the most part after she became a Christian, she became very hard and thought her way was the right way; her beliefs and teachings about God were the only truth. I learned that God was a strict and punishing God through my. I was taught: Do good, get good. Do bad, get bad, so I was scared of God. My Dad was not conforming to this new-found religion my Mom had conformed to. He would throw her Bible, books, and tapes out of the house and tell her they weren’t allowed back in. They fought horribly about God, now I can see where the enemy was wanting to destroy family unity. God created us for family, to love one another and to thank Him for all the good things He has graced to us.

As I got older, the dysfunction continued, I was taking all of my dysfunction into my thoughts. I didn’t know who was right or who was wrong; I didn’t have an identity. Because of the chaos in my home. I didn’t do well in school. I heard my Dad picked on Mom,so I took what he said to her into my spirit. as I grew up would anger would rise up in my spirit in my heart. Train your child up in the Love of God and they will not depart from it. I learned to keep my feelings inside. This caused me to feel anxious and nervous and fearful, not knowing how to express myself. I never did well in school, I was restless and my mind was all over the place. I had a horse and she was my very best friend. My thoughts were always on getting on her, and escaping or with training dogs, to pull sleds and it brought me comfort. I learned to escape my anxious thoughts by spending all of my time with my animals. I loved animals because they seemed to need me as much as i needed them. I had no idea I was a beloved child of God, that He knew me before I was born, that He set me apart, that He had a good plan for my life. What I thought was that I was stupid because when I was in class I would get in trouble for not listening or paying attention and the other students would laugh at me. I would feel embarrassed and ashamed of who I was. When it came time for my report cards, I was anxious and scared to show it to my parents because, because my grades were always below average. They would tell me to: Pay attention! Quit acting stupid!" I believed I was stupid, whatever that meant to me at the time. I suppose dumb, incapable of learning; I willed to believe that. I was insecure and very lonely
