Going Beyond Man - Pierre S. Hughes

    James 1:12

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

    Special Thanks

To all those who kept me in prayer during my time of distress, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart. It was truly your prayers that saw me through when all seemed dark and Gray, you had my name in your mouth sending it up in prayer, during that time I never realized that the more you prayed the more I became strong allowing myself to know that there would be a brighter day ahead, now that the light shines where it was once so dark I can finally say I can see clearly now.

    Love,

    Pierre S. Hughes

    The Finished Product

There is a show that reminds me so dearly about how great God is and that’s unwrapped on the food network. It shows how cakes and candies and all of our most loved snacks are made. Some take two days; some take two weeks, and during that time, there is a process. All the sugars, salts, and butters have to be mixed. Some have to sit at a certain temperature, some have to be covered in certain foils to keep them fresh, and some even have to be cut or shaped a certain way. Then once everything is done, it’s shipped off. Then we, the consumer, come along and maybe while we are shopping or passing by certain items we had already planned to get, whether it be a cake, cookie, or even this book, it catches our eyes. Why? Because the finished product is so beautiful; however, if we would have only passed by when it was just about to be processed, maybe we would have not even given it a second look. But because it was done, we saw it. It’s a testimony to me because if you would have only known me many years back, maybe, just maybe, you would have just passed by, but now you stop, because there’s a light that shines so bright. It’s the light God that allowed me to shine upon the world and that’s his word. Only love can process such a thing. Enjoy and be bless.

    Yesterday is gone

A Poem by Pierre S. Hughes

Stop living like you can turn back the hands of time; yesterday is

Gone, hold your head up high, look deep into the sky; yesterday

Is gone; speak words of encouragement, so what; you failed

Again; yesterday is gone, pick up the phone; you make the first

Step; yesterday is gone, plant a seed of faith in a garden that has

Yet to bring forth a harvest; yesterday is gone, laugh even when

You feel like crying; yesterday is gone, fix your hair, wear

Something nice today; yesterday is gone, look in the mirror,

Tell yourself you can; even when deep inside you feel like you

Can’t; yesterday is gone, finally take all your jewels, diamonds,

Crowns, diplomas, degrees, accolades and most importantly

Your robe; place them in your closet so that they are not to be

Damaged or tarnished, then take rest in one of your most finest

Beds; Why? Because yesterday, is gone……

    Who are you?

    Traditional Praise

Tradition, Tradition, tradition; that’s all you’ve ever lived, you’ve carried

The load of other people’s problems for years, you’ve made everything in life

Seem like a walk in the park; every Sunday you’re the first to show up to church,

You hold one of the most powerful positions
