This book is dedicated to First Lady Mary McClain, who saw uniqueness in me. Thanks for the encouragement and exposure to speak with some of the great women generals of God’s army.

My mother, the late Mrs. Willie M. Mitchell Miller, who was a faithful woman of God and the pillar of our community; she overcame great odds and persevered when others thought she would fail. She taught me faithfulness, forgiveness, and determination.

My sister, Mrs. Betty Vines Mitchell, who was encouraging and supportive in making this book possible. Thank you for always being there when I needed you the most.

    Introduction

For many years, I struggled with the myth God does not call women into the five-fold ministry.

And He gave some, apostles; and some prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors; and teachers. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.(Ephesians 4:11-13)

Even today, there are churches that refuse to allow women to work in the five-fold ministry. However, everyone and everything were created as an intricate part of God’s plan and purpose for mankind. I did not get this revelation knowledge until I was forty-one years old. A lack of knowledge caused me to live a life of defeat and devastation and hindered me from accepting my calling and walking in the knowledge of my uniqueness.

Your uniqueness is the gift God has given to you to be used to fulfill His plan and purpose for your life. Your uniqueness makes you different from others in a way that makes you special, morally upright, and worthy of respect.

I encourage everyone who reads this book do not limit God because He is infinite and He created each of us with uniqueness to be used to fulfill our purpose.

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracle, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But eagerly desire the greater gift. (1 Corinthians 12:28-30; 1 Corinthians 12:4-13)

Never allow men to define who you are or your past failures to hinder you from being or doing what God has called you to be or do. You must realize that no one else can accomplish what God has called you to accomplish unless you refuse to allow Him to work in your life. You must remember, everyone was created to be an intricate part of God’s plan for creation. Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him (Isaiah 43:7). We were created to worship God because we are His children and we are called by His name, the children of God. Each of us is peculiar and distinguished from each other, and is set apart for His use to bring Him glory and pleasure. We were created and formed into His image and given a particular gift designed to be used specifically to fulfill His purpose for our lives and His plan for creation. We are empowered with His Spirit and given the ability to manifest that particular gift to bring Him glory and pleasure. Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created (Revelations 4:11). We are one body created with uniqueness serving one God with different gifts and purposes to fulfill His plan, to bring Him glory and pleasure.

    Confirmation of Call

    Discovering Your Purpose

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou came forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

    —Jeremiah 1:5

God saw the creation before He created anything, and He knew each of us before we were formed in our mother’s womb; He sanctified us before we came out of our mother’s womb to bring glory to Him. Sanctified means we are Holy and separated from worldly use to be dedicated to God and His service. When God sanctified us, He gave each of us uniqueness to fulfill His plan and purpose for our lives. My uniqueness is the ability to effectively use the anointing of God in my life to impart the Word of God into the lives of others, to share my testimony, and to encourage them to turn to God.

At the age of five, I knew I had a calling in my life; however, the church I grew up in taught God did not call women into the five-fold ministry. Growing up, I was different from other children in my neighborhood. Instead of going outside to play with the other children, I went outside to find an isolated area where I could read my Bible. During this time, God began showing me things through dreams, but I did not know how to discern what He was showing and telling me through these dreams. Once, God showed me through a dream that my uncles were going to die in a few days. When I told my mother about the dream, she said, Go outside to play because you do not know what you are talking about. My uncle did die because he was treated for the wrong diagnosis. However, after his death, my mother did not say or think anything about what I had said to her about his death. After this incident, I had more dreams, but I did not have anyone to share them with. For many years, this was a struggle for me not having anyone to talk with and tell them what I was seeing and feeling. Although, I read the bible everyday I did not understand what I was reading because of what I was taught. And I did not know how to get the help I needed to get a better understanding of what I was reading and experiencing. I was fearful of asking an adult why God
