My Pathway to Salvation

Growing up salvation was not the talk of the town! Going to church was! I can remember hearing talk about the fact that you must go to church in order to make it in Heaven. I used to hear that from so many people but I never knew or heard anything about salvation. Joining the church was the way to go! In my beginning years I grew up under the teaching of a United Methodist Episcopal Church and really didn’t hear much talk or emphasis about salvation. We sung a lot of songs, danced, heard a word from the preacher, gave our offering and then was dismissed for the day. Over the summer months we participated in the summer church programs to which it kept a lot of us children out of trouble.

As time passed on, I moved to a different state and started attending a holiness church. Wow, what a difference from growing up in the Methodist to now having to change beliefs and ways of doing things. It was life changing for me as a teenager (who could have imagined!). I had to act a certain way, do things a certain way and most of all attend church on a regular basis. Didn’t really hear a lot about salvation but most assuredly heard plenty about being holy and
