About this ebook

The Purpose of Purpose is your divine revelation of blessings and salvation. It is intended to help God’s children understand that it does not matter where you are or where you have been, but rather what you are willing to do according to God’s will and purpose for your life. It is not God’s will for the enemy to cheat the world out of your divine gift! More importantly, God desires that at death, your soul is returned home to Him—the One that created you. I AM... I AM who? I AM what? As much as you think you know about yourself, take a moment to think about it and ask yourself: “Who am I? Am I really using my gifts for God’s purpose?” Discovering the God in you and who you are will take some time, but it is a journey into spiritual discovery as well as self-identity that is well worth the trips! Yes, there will be several trips—in and out, and around and about as you travel back and forth, between and betwixt right and wrong! There will be starts, stalls, and stops, but do not give up! There is both an amazing power and grace in you!

    What is Purpose?

...We know that all things work together for the good of them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.

    Romans 8:28

How many people can truly say that they know why they were born—their reason for being? Have you ever taken a moment to ponder or ask yourself: Why was I born? Am I using my life and gifts to glorify God and help humanity? When was the last time I shared the good news of salvation with anyone? The truth is that many of us have lost our zeal and presence of mind relative to our reasonable service to God: the work that God called each of us to do according to His purpose!

    Purpose is God’s divine vision

    of men, women, and children

    working in ministers of faith,

sacrifice, and salvation! God sees potential in YOU, even when you can only see limitations and weaknesses. We have predestined gifts and the capability to live righteously and to do good works. Are you ready to embrace and actualize yours? This book will ask you to consider the fact that the purpose of your life is bigger than you. God did not create you for your glory, but for His. Just as Jesus was born into a world of sin to save the world from sin, so should we, by sacrificing a predestined portion of our lives for the perfecting of men, women, and children according to the will of God---this is our reasonable service. Ephesians 4:11-13 says, And He gave some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come into the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God... Our births were not coincidental—every birth has a purpose! God wants to use you.

I AM a Child of God and a Christian. I chose Christ as my savior when I was a little girl. I was born to teach and help others. Therefore, I take every opportunity I get to share the good news of salvation. Believe it or not, if a conversation about the goodness of The Lord starts in a bar, over a glass of wine, I will... be all-in! I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love The Lord, because He loved me first! As such, I am continuously seeking direction from God as it relates to my purpose and how to best use my gifts to serve Him and humanity. If I was a Genie, I could just blink my eyes, and every man, woman, and child would be saved. But, I would be taking away their choice to choose who they want to serve: God or Satan. I cannot imagine why anyone would want to serve the devil, but we see his agents and associates every day. God wants to have an abiding relationship with us; therefore, He wants us to come unto Him through our own free will. If I was a fairy Godmother, I could wave my magic wand and end peoples’ suffering from confusion, disease, discrimination, and poverty. I believe God would be very pleased with me if I had that gift and I used it to do away with people’s burdens. But, since I do not have either of those magical powers, I have decided to use the gifts God gave me to write the good news about the power of God and salvation for all who can read, to read and those who can hear, to hear.

The Purpose of Purpose will remind readers that sometimes we suffer because of ignorance and disobedience concerning God’s divine purpose for our lives.

My life is a testimony that glorifies God for giving me the strength, courage, and wisdom to move beyond colored lines, poverty lines, gender lines, and other situations of physical and spiritual bondage. When I look at some of the conditions in which we live, I am moved by the amount of oppressive selfishness that still exists in the 21st century. Some wealthy and privileged individuals still think their purpose in life and death is to oppress people who are less fortunate than them. I have always dreamt of being wealthy. I believed I could end some of peoples’ confusion, ignorance and oppression, if I could just reach them and tell them about the fruits of God’s spirit! I still believe that when people read and hear about the power of God that is in them, they will begin to live and walk therein...becoming partakers in their own spiritual discovery, identity, and liberation.

2 Corinthians 9:7-8 says, Let every man give according as he purposed in his heart; not grudgingly or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver: And, God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that you always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. The elders use to say, You can’t beat God giving." I use to envision the scope of my philanthropic work being both systematic and massive—if I were wealthy. Through maturity, education, and experience, I have come to better understand that there is a plan for maintaining the varied socioeconomic system made up of classes of people. Therefore, along with philanthropy, I have embraced an advocacy role to speak conscientiously against social inequities and injustices of all people; especially, people of color in America and around the world.

No. I do not have the power to change anyone or anything alone, but through fellowship and faith in God, we can do good works that glorify God, and together, we can share the good news about God’s gift of individual and collective empowerment! No one in this world should be enslaved to a system, condition, or person. I recognize and have experienced the conditions of lack and need on several occasions in my lifetime, but I believe my frame of mind and faith had a lot to do with my perseverance and deliverance. I wholeheartedly believe that God supplied too much within the earth for any of us to have to dwell in a status of lack. There is too much money for anyone to be poor; too much food for anyone to be hungry; too much work to be done for anyone to be jobless; too many homes for anyone to be homeless; too much medicine for anyone to be sick with an illness or incurable disease; and, there are too many signs from God for anyone to deny His existence, purpose, and wisdom! Jeremiah 32:27 says, Behold I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me? God has provided sufficient provisions within the earth and around the world for everyone. However, that would be hard to believe, if you do not believe in God or His divine purpose for your life! I now understand that what people know about God and how they fit into His purpose has an impact on whether they will live in bondage or be free. Everyone needs a frame of reference to garner an understanding that will formulate a bigger picture of life, living, and death. I believe that once people embrace and connect the unity of faith with work, charity, and the knowledge of Christ, this world will be a better place! Contrary to popular belief, wealth should not be hoarded. I was glad when I read that billionaires like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates planned to leave substantial portions of their wealth to be used in philanthropic work. There is an old adage: To whom much is given-much is required. So, I am of a firm belief that God expects both charity and dutiful reciprocity amongst us: working together to protect each other; lightening each other’s load; encouraging each other through fellowship and faith; and teaching each other the gospel according to God’s will. In Mark 12:30-31, Jesus says thou shall love the Lord with all thy heart, soul, mind, and strength; and love thy neighbor as thyself. It really does not matter how much you have in the form of gifts and money, they should be shared for—teaching faith; working in the ministry; and edifying the body of Christ!

Who really knows what their purpose is? How does one go about connecting his/her life to a meaningful and impactful purpose? By what measure are we able to determine if by sharing our blessings and gifts that we have been successful in helping others? Can our lives according to God’s purpose for us yield measurable results? While these questions may cause us to stop and ponder, what we know for sure is that God wants us to commit our lives to Him! Every blessing, talent, trial, and tribulation is for a purpose! They are a test of your faith and understanding of God’s divine will for you! Each day is another chance to try to live in accordance to God’s will and purpose for you. You will fall short, but when you commit your heart, soul, mind, and body to loving God, you will begin to feel a connection that will consistently bring your world-spirit under submission while elevating in you, the fruits of God’s spirit. We suffer in our flesh because we think that our lives are about us! It is a constant struggle to let go and let God when our priorities and desires are working in opposition to God’s word and instructions for us! The most important components to purpose are the statements: (1) according to His purpose, and (2) according to God’s will. Most of the problems in the world would be solved if both the arrogant and the ignorant understood that there is one God, a divine creator of all things, and we were born to glorify Him as well as serve. James 2:19-20, says Thou believes that there is one God; thou doest well; the devil also believes and trembles...Faith without works is dead. God has gifted every man, woman, and child with such a diversity of gifts and talents that he/she simply needs to embrace and use them to help teach and
