Hello beautiful people. I would like to thank you for entering my Queedom, I am Carla McGee. I am the Poetress and photographer of this work, I pray you enjoy. I am the mother of a beautiful daughter, Aiyanda and a handsome son, Jadarion. The love of my life, my grandson Da’Mari owns the keys to Grammy’s heart. I was born in Wallace, North Carolina, but also lived in Jamaica Queens, New York as a young teen. San Diego, California at 32nd St. was my duty station as a Navy woman. As a veteran of the great US Navy. I now reside in San Antonio, TX. I salute current serving military and bow to veterans that are here or have crossed over. A Crown Is Given
A crown is given to the little girl; it falls to the floor
A crown is given to the little boy; he tilts it to the side
Did anyone teach them the etiquette of wearing the crown?
Does the little girl know to stand tall, with head held high, and shoulders pulled back; regal?
Does the little boy know, that he must bear the weight of the world on his strong broad shoulders, and endure?
Can the little girl grow to a woman of affluence, and lead by example, or will the materialistic world, consume her with trinkets?
Can the little boy grow to a man of authority, to rule his home and not let the lure of the streets consume him?
Did anyone instruct the young lady that she is a Queen now, and that her decisions impact more than just the here and now?
Did anyone let the young man know that he is a King, to dismiss the foolish, and foster the Gift of
