Born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, I have always stri...view moreHi, I am Steven Alexander, or as my friends call me, “S.K.,” and I have been composing poetry since I was 13 years old. Born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, I have always strived to make my poetry innovative and thought provoking, while not sacrificing simplicity. Having ties to the north while being raised in the south, has allowed me to have a unique perspective on life and individual cultures and differences. I have attempted to focus on expressing that unique hybrid into my body of work. A “Road that leads to no answers,” is a combination of love, self observing, and heart wrenching poetry, which is an honest account of my life’s perspective. These poems reflect on my life’s history including my relationship with my father and friends, and my handling of my sexuality. It is with this body of work that I explore the interconnection between a wide array of emotions that we as humans endure without losing oneself.
