SPOKEN WORD
I write poetry as a form of expression
To make a point or teach a lesson
Not interested in slamming rhyme or hype
Just want to tell a story or expose a plight
So many emotions it’s a perfect venue
To let out all the feelings deep within you
Feelings that cause hurt and rage
Poetry provides the perfect stage
To vent, expose and to air old wounds
Wars within and struggles to fine-tune
The stories that yearn and ache to be told
Stories bout age and time, young and old
I hope the truths that are yet revealed
Are authentic, uncontrived and real
I write poetry as a form of expression
Sometimes spontaneous or an all-night session
The ebb and tide of the rhythm and rhyme
Flow together a verse at a time
Words that are generated
