About this ebook
You will feel a range of emotions while reading these poems from a poet that has a realist outlook with a giving spirit fighting his inner demons.
William Marshall Davis
William Marshall Davis is a man that is large and in charge. He is large physically and intellectually. He survived a life that many have not. He lived in the streets and learned the rules and unspoken laws of the darker side of the community where he became addicted to cocaine and witnessed the injustices of this land personally. He has been arrested many times and has lived behind the razor wire of prison twice. During that time he owned up to his mistakes, claimed his sobriety and found his God given talents and picked up a pen. These poems were written during the last 15 years during moments in his life where he felt love, heartbreak, anger and hate. He has grown since those times. He will never be politically correct but you will feel every feeling he felt when he wrote these poems.

Harshness
What I write does carry a harshness
Of a bitter attitude you could say it suggests
But in no way am I bitter I’m simply aware
And the things I se I choose to openly share
Just because it’s not sugar coated
They say I’m upset that’s why I wrote it
When in fact I’m usually of a balanced attitude
Then in actually what I write is not dictated by my mood
I just choose to script what my mind spits
It’s not my fault if you can’t seem to handle it
What I see, what I feel, makes me go all in
And for no one will I dilute the ink in my pen
That’s exactly what’s wrong with this world today
People are brave to think but afraid to say
Me on the other hand stand on a different side
As far as I’m concerned my pen and paper have nothing to hide
So I make no apologies if what I write comes across offensive
Because this world I live in is hard not soft and sensitive
Tho I could write in a style metaphorically finessed
Sometimes what’s needed is a little straight forward harshness
Everything I Write
Everyone is not gonna like everything I write
That’s common sense not profound insight
Different ranges of understanding and levels of intellect
Some like when I write about God, others when I write about sex
I’m never going to please everyone who reads poetry
That’s not what I’m wanting to achieve literary
I’m just wanting to project how I’m feeling at a time
Transfer to paper the things going on in my mind
Yes some of these lines might come across offensive
Especially if your small minded and excessively sensitive
What my pen writes sometimes I don’t even know
And sometimes I write intentionally to step on toes
Truth and facts never lies and callous speculation
I write at a target and my words strike their destination
Its guaranteed that if you read my books your judgment will be 50-50
Try and fight it but your gonna want to read more of me
But like it or not you’ll agree that I’m the best at this art
Because what I write is real and comes straight from my heart
So I really don’t care if you bitch, moan and gripe
Because everyone is not gonna like everything I write
Left Alone
I just want to be left alone
Treat me like I’m physically in another time zone
Because I’m usually in a different mental hemisphere
So when you see me act as if I’m not over there
Pretty much I want you to stay out of my face
Give me plenty of room and let me have my space
I know that I have to coexist socially
But I do prefer if you wouldn’t stand that close to me
I’ll deal with you only if I have to
Other than that I’ll treat you as if your see through
So it will need to be because of business when we cross paths
Not to bond, embrace, interact or share a laugh
I’m just
