Life-Changing Thoughts on Prayer (Volume 4) - Zacharias Tanee Fomum

    1

    PRAYER AND LEADERSHIP

There are people who do not pray. They are dangerous.

There are people who pray alone deeply and intensely. They are spiritual people.

There are people who pray alone deeply and intensely and mobilise the largest number of people to pray. They are spiritual leaders.

    Mpundu, 02/11/02

    2

    PRAYER AND LEADERSHIP

Aman’s leadership is measured by the power of his praying alone.

A man’s leadership is also measured by his power to move others to pray.

The more people he can move to pray, the greater will be his leadership.

    Mpundu, 02/11/02

    3

    PRAYERLESSNESS

Prayerlessness is a confession that God is not needed, and the flesh of the prayerless one can do the work.

    Mpundu

    PRAYER AND LEADERSHIP

When a man decreases the time spent alone with God, he has decreased his effective leadership.

Leadership is directly proportional to the time spent with God alone.

    Mpundu, 02/11/02

    PRAYER

Praying is calling the God of heaven to do what man cannot do. Prayer is a confession of personal inability. The praying person says to God, "This thing must be done because it is Your will. I cannot do it. Lord do it.’’

    Yaounde, 04/11/02

    8

    PRAYER

Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them (Hebrews 7:25, NKJV).

The throne of heaven is the throne of intercession because on it is the Lord Jesus, who lives forevermore to intercede.

    Yaounde

    9

    PRAYER

We should make our desires known to God in prayer and then rely on Him to move men to do what He would have them do.

    PRAYER AND HOLINESS

Have you noticed how much praying for revival has been going on of late and how little revival has resulted? I believe our problem is that we have been trying to substitute praying for obedience, and it simply will not work. To pray for revival while ignoring or actually flouting the plain precepts laid down in the Scriptures is to waste a lot of words and get nothing for our trouble. Prayer will become effective when we stop using it as a substitute for obedience.

    PRAYER

    Prayer brings down divine omnipotence.

Prayer brings down the power of God into human affairs.

Prayer transforms average minds into great minds.

Prayer transforms great minds into super great minds.

Prayer makes the divine vision clear.

Prayer hooks a man’s heart to the vision.

Prayer welds a man’s heart to the heart of God.

Prayer fuses the human heart to the heart of God so that the two hearts begin to function as one.

    PRAYER

Praying for oneself is bringing into existence by laying hold on God, all that God had in mind in creating one, and all that God wants one to be.

    Yaounde

    14

    PRAYER

Praying for oneself is labouring with God to take out of existence all that is in one’s being that contradicts the perfection and the glory of the Almighty.

THE HEART THAT CAN MOVE GOD TO ANSWER

Acold heart towards God is one of the greatest hindrances to moving God through prayer. The one whose heart is cold towards God hates God and his prayer constitute religious formalism, or they aim at getting things from the One they hate. God is a God of love and only His lovers can move Him by their prayers.

THE HEART THAT CAN MOVE GOD TO ANSWER

The temperature of the heart is all important to God. The heart can be very cold, cold, lukewarm, a bit hot, very hot or red-hot. The prayer that moves God to answer is that which flows from the heart that is red hot for God. Prayer that flows from hearts that are very cold, cold, lukewarm or a bit hot is useless because God vomits all such prayers. They are a waste of time. The God of heaven is a consuming fire; only that which is red hot is accepted by Him.

    PRAYER

Awork of God succeeds depending on whether or not the lost and the saved are hungry and thirsty for God. The minister of the gospel must wrestle with God and continue to wrestle with God until all the saved are desperately hungry and thirsty for the all of God. Then the desperately hungry and thirsty saved ones must team up with the minister of the gospel, and together, they must pray, giving God no rest and taking no rest, until the Lord sends a hunger and thirst for God upon tens, hundreds, thousands, hundreds of thousands and millions of lost people. When the lost who are cold and indifferent are changed into the lost who hunger and thirst for the Lord Jesus, a great point has been reached in the work among those people. The day of God’s visitation will be brought near.

PRAYER AND SUCCESSFUL OR UNSUCCESSFUL WORK

What is the difference between a work that succeeds and a work that fails? The difference lies in the heart of the worker. The soul-winner must move God to move the people to seek the Lord. If the soul-winner fails to move God to move the people to seek Him, there will be no work that succeeds. Whether or not there is a work that succeeds is determined at the place of prayer. The soul-winner must move people God-ward or fail.

    PRAYER AND WARFARE

    PRAYER AND WARFARE

Brother, things are determined at the place of prayer and what happens in prayer has repercussions on earth. The enemy must be destroyed in the invisible and then he will collapse in the visible.

THE PRAISE OF THE MOST HIGH GOD

    GOD’S PURPOSE IN CREATION

God’s purpose in creation was that man, set free from sin, self, the love of the world and the love of the things of the world, and set apart for God, be filled with the Holy spirit and be caught up with thanksgiving, praise and worship of the Lord God Almighty.
