Preface

I BELIEVE WE ALL HAVE a story to tell if we look back at God’s presence in the simple, everyday events of our lives.  As I looked through my journal, it occurred to me how amazing God has been, so I wanted to share with you a few stories in hopes that you will be encouraged to know He is watching and is active in the lives of His children.

He isn’t just out there somewhere unaffected by our trials, and sorrows and hopes.  He is real and present with us, and His presence is amazing.

So take a journey with me as we discover His amazing presence as He uses others to encourage and teach us, and as He answers simple prayers in amazing ways.  Watch and listen as God warns and encourages us, uses circumstances to refine us, and uses us in the lives of others.

As you listen to the stories, think about your own stories of God’s presence on your journey.  And be amazed.

When God Uses Others to Encourage and Teach Us

MY MOTHER AND I WERE blessed with a spiritual connection from my early adult years.

During one of my prayer times, my mind went blank over how or what to pray, so I asked God to help me pray.  The words started to flow as I prayed aloud, and I knew the Spirit was providing guidance and helping me pray.  It was a heart wrenching prayer and tears flowed along with the words.  Later that week, I called my mother to share a scripture I had read which addressed some of the things she and I had been talking about in the previous months.  After she read the scripture verses I had given her from John 12, she called me back to share a scripture passage from Isaiah 6 that was written in the margin of her Bible next to the verses I
