I would like to thank my Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus for allowing me to find Him and grow in Him, to find the place where I am able to testify to my experiences in Him, and giving me the ability to write about it. If it had not been for the Lord on my side, I would still be lost. I would like to thank my family, friends, and every spiritual leader that has impacted my life in some way or form up to this point in my life.
CHAPTER 1
PRAISE IN ADVERSITY
On the day of December 4, 2011, Sunday service was not as usual. The spirit of God was high in the sanctuary. Before my arriving at church that morning, I prayed and asked God to allow the Holy Spirit to move through myself and the praise team so when we went before the congregation and before God in song, we were not going before Him in the flesh. During praise and worship, the Holy Spirit took over, we ended praise and worship on a song lead by me called How great is our God.
The spirit was so strong upon me that I felt like crying out in thanksgiving to the Almighty God in heaven. After corporate praise and worship, the congregation went into a praise session where everyone had their personal moment to give honor and reverence to the almighty God in heaven. During the personal worship time, I was lead to prophesy a word from God to three individuals. After giving the words, I went back to my seat and bowed down to God. During this moment of personal worship I saw the spirit of God circle around the entire church three times and in doing so he was pouring out his peace amongst the people; a peace which surpassed all understanding. He then came and wrapped his arms around me, and stood in the back of the church.
Once, the worship session was over we went into the offering and tithes followed by a testimony from a member of the congregation. God, then laid it upon my heart to give my testimony about how he told me to let my home go, and out of obedience, I did so. I concluded by saying, by being obedient you are allowed to rest in God’s peace.
Because, had I not let my place go, the stress of keeping it would have overpowered me and taken me completely out of God’s joy, thus hindering what he was trying to do within me and for me. Obedience is truly greater than a sacrifice. When we are obedient to the voice of God, it allows us to be restored to the place God desires for us and positions us spiritually to receive divine wisdom, grace, peace, joy, and walk into all of our blessings without missing any.
The service then took another twist. Instead of the pastor bringing forth the word, one of the members came and bowed to the feet of the pastor and prayed for him. Another came forth with money and laid it at the pastor’s feet and said she was surrendering to God. Many others, then followed and spoke what they were surrendering unto God and laid money at the pastor’s feet and he prayed for each person that came forth. We were not bowing down to a man, we were surrendering to God, but God used the pastor in a physical form to operate through. We saw the God in him, not seeing him as God. It was a touching and revelational moment for us all. I saw with my spiritual eyes God standing behind the pastor. We then sealed the deal of our surrenders with communion. To fully understand what took place during the service, you would have to view it in a spiritual mind because a carnal mind would lead you to believe what took place was not of God,
