IT WAS A BRISK MARCH EVENING, AND I was in major crunch mode. Working for multiple magazines means multiple deadlines, uploads and editing blocks, often overlapping, making for a frustrating haze in my head. To top it off, I was getting ready to go on tour with my band and cramming all my work into an even more tight timeframe. Hunter S. Thompson’s famous quote “When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro” doesn’t even begin to describe how I was feeling. I was truly firing on all cylinders, doing vocals, playing bass, then running back upstairs to write another story or edit something else, keeping an eye on the clock the entire time.
