In the world of cannabis genetics, the word “flooded” can sometimes get tossed around in a bad way. But for something to flood the market, it has to be dope. It must check every box regarding flavor, strength, and yield. And in that sense, few people have ever flooded the market with more of their genetics than Anthony Hart, aka JBeezy of Seed Junky Genetics, after spending the last decade knocking it out of the park over and over again with commercially viable hitter after hitter.
We reached out to JBeezy to get his take on his breeding adventure so far, from the garages with a few lights and limited A/C where all the magic started to the advanced facility he now calls home. There, he can hunt through more of his work than ever before.
While he attempted to cultivate cannabis when he was as young as the age of 12, JBeezy points to his time in college in Los Angeles as when the breeding bug first bit him. A big part of this stemmed from the lack of genetics he had access to when he first learned to cultivate at a more serious level.
“I just didn’t have access to genetics at all. I mean, nobody would give you a cut back then, you know, like the kushes, it was hard to land a good OG and Bubba. Those are what everybody wanted in L.A., and I just didn’t have access,” JBeezy told High Times. “So I ordered seeds and started messing around making crosses. Just playing around with it.”
He would eventually get a Bubba Kush cut from a dispensary owner in Eagle Rock, California. He also got access to Green Crack and OG through that shop. He would pair the cuts with a Dutch Master Kush he’d hunted from seed, but it didn’t
