Introduction
Charles Darwin coined the term survival of the fittest
in reference to his theory and concept of natural selection. Natural selection is an adjustment of genetic characteristics over many years that develop to aid survival. Changes of this variety can take place both physically and mentally. Take, for example, one of our prehistoric cousins
if you will: Neanderthals. Neanderthals (homo neanderthalensis) were very similar to humans (homo sapiens) and in the same genus (homo) as us as well, yet they have been extinct for roughly 40,000 years. It is thought that homo sapiens may have significantly contributed to the extinction of Neanderthals due to our increased ability to develop and use tools as well as our social innovation. This illustrates both an increased cognitive ability, as well as advanced physical traits. With this in mind, it goes without saying that intelligence goes a long way towards success. This was true 40,000 years ago when it came to Homo sapiens and Neanderthals, and it still holds true today.
Think about where you are today. Even if you feel you are at the top of your game, chances are, you can do even better. Whether you’re struggling and you really want to finally find your strength and catch stride, or you simply want to dominate every area of your life, this book is for you. Intelligence can be improved, no matter what genetics rest within you. Whether you were in AP classes all through high school, or you were placed into remedial English. Maybe you attended a private school, the best money can buy. Or maybe you left in the 7th grade due to circumstance. Or maybe you’re not looking to learn anything in the academic field, but you want to learn something more creative, like how to shade when you’re sketching a picture, how to play the drums or even methods of teaching other people. Regardless of where you are right now, you can do better, and reach farther, than you ever thought you could. This is your time, your moment, to become part of that small percentage of successful people. This text is going to teach you how. From there, it is up to you, dear reader, to apply the powerful knowledge that lies within, and step up to your full potential. This book will help you better understand your brain, how you learn in general, how you learn best, study tips, reading advice, and so much more. By the end, you’ll be fully equipped to learn in ways you never have and accomplish more than you ever imagined.
Section 1: Accelerated Learning
You might be thinking that introduction to this text made some pretty bold claims. You’re right, it did; the claims, however, are completely founded and justified when you learn the effects of accelerated learning and how this adjustment to your mind, and thus your life, can actually catapult you ahead of everyone else. So let’s start with the obvious question: what is accelerated learning?
Accelerated learning is a technique of teaching and learning with the premise that everyone is capable of performing at a much higher capacity than they currently are, as well as much higher than they think they are capable of. It’s a process of studying (or educating) techniques that allow you to learn a variety of material in a comparatively brief period of time. The process directs you in constructing the most optimum learning environment, creating the best learning model to suit the needs of anyone and everyone, and aiding the entire learning process so that your level of knowledge is both deepened
