What to do with the Word of God

Text: Mathew 7:24-27; Deuteronomy 6: 6-9

Introduction: The Word of God is very important to a believer for so many reasons. That is why there are so many scriptures instructing believers to study and meditate on the Word. However, many believers do not understand the importance of the Word, and to their loss they ignore the Word. Some even pretend to give attention to the Word without really taking it serious, deceiving themselves.

What the Bible tells us to do with the Word

Hear it. A believer must hear the Word. (By listening to messages in church or fellowships, in discussions, listening to tapes, cd, video, watching movies centred on the Word, etc.) You can listen to the Word as you do other things like driving, sleeping, washing, cooking, waiting on God, waiting for people, selling, in your shop, home, etc.

Do it. A believer should be conscious to identify specific instructions from the Word of God as he listens to it and ensure that he aligns his (own) life to follow the Word completely (in marital issues, financial matters, relationship issues, and
