Chapter 1 - What It Is

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.Galatians 5:19-21 KJV (emphasis mine).

I had an interesting experience, when I was a kid. I was returning from an evening outing with my elder brother. All of a sudden, someone raised an alarm about a certain witch who was supposed to have killed several people and was now on a prowl. We were not the only ones who ran. The entire street became deserted in a moment.

Witchcraft is a very volatile subject. It is regarded as very negative. That, probably, is the reason why no sane person wants to be labelled a witch.

However, in the scripture above, Paul listed witchcraft as a work of the flesh. And that is strange, because the normal witchcraft is a spiritual activity. But obviously, he was talking about something different.
