    Part One

    ---01---

I am adjusting my smoke-protective mask again. The air on the farm floor is hazy, as always.

Perhaps, not bringing Gideon with us may be turning out to be a right decision. Imagine that big guy entering the farm floor and trying to sneak into Haloom Ghoude’s suite. He is an easy target to pick. (He is not cut out to be a spy.)

Wendy has been to this floor a few times on her mailing duty, and she even knows the obscure backdoor. She and I have just entered the suite from this backdoor, without having been discovered by anyone so far. The staff members working for the suite think that the metallic door on the front side is enough. According to the Towerld Standard Time, it is between the midnight and the early morning. Even though the front entrance is guarded with a hefty double door and two gatekeepers, the wimpy wooden backdoor is just merely locked with a key. She pulls out a utility key of some sort, and unlocks the backdoor. (She indeed has lots of gadgets.)

Even though we are surrounded by the rather unexpected darkness, Wendy has already memorized the floor plan of the vicinity.

I wish I had time to study the floor plan, but we have no time. Gideon is so close to suffering from the withdrawal, no thanks to the fact that the injectors that Wendy and I delivered to him contained what appeared to be poison. Wendy knows the floor plan, and that is an assuring asset in this mission of intrusion.

It has been a while, since I became a professional mailperson. However, I am yet to fully memorize the floor plan of the factory floor (the sole area of my job operation). I have to learn the professionalism from my master. It is not going to be easy, because her feet, fists, and memorization are far faster than mine.

    This way, Hector.

    Yes, my master.

The good thing is that we are not going astray.

I still have to obey this cuddly little critter. At this point, I am valuable to her just because I can open a hefty door and carry a heavy package for her. I have to keep on stepping up as a mailperson and continue to walk up the stairway to the upper floors. One step at a time.

    ---02---

First, we sneak into the suite to go to the storage room (located quite far away from the backdoor). In the storage room, we steal the drug that Gideon is addicted to. It can temporarily stop the withdrawal for a while, even though it is not a permanent ‘fix’. If we can manage to bring the drug to Gideon without letting the forger do the hard work, it will be nice.

I unload the shelves and open the boxes full of injectors. We make sure that we are dealing with the right drug, by looking at the labels on the injectors. I pick up the boxes, close them, and put them in a bag that I am carrying on my back. Even though Wendy is sneaky enough to be a master spy, she is not known for her strength to carry the bounties out of the place. (She still has to depend on me.)

With hefty bounties on my back, we are ready to get out of the storage room, move through the suite, and retreat to the backdoor. We are prioritizing the cure for Gideon’s withdrawal to abducting the Pluck Princess for now. We will deal with the rescue operation after we get out of here.

Going back the route that we have used from the backdoor to the storage room should be easy.

We are now entering a large dining hall, which we passed through on the way to the storage room. It is dimly lit, as other parts of the suite are. This is different from the audience room in which I encountered Haloom Ghoude (the drug lord) and Mary Teana Blockheart (the Pluck Princess). At the center of the space, I see a hefty dining table that is seemingly sturdy and big enough to turn into a platform for a gladiator match. About fifty chairs with backrests and stools surround the dining table. Bookshelves, cupboards, and display shelves that are tall enough to reach the ceiling are placed along the four walls of the dining hall.
