PROLOGUE
There are many opportunities in everyday life to break free of self-imposed limitations, build self-worth, self-esteem, selfreliance and self-confidence. When you do something out-of-theordinary for who you are, change a routine, do something you fear, you are becoming more than who you were yesterday. It’s the little changes you make that may change your life forever. It could be changing your hair color or hairstyle, trying foods you’ve never eaten, driving on a highway for the first time, going to a movie or restaurant alone a short/extended solo road trip, a 5K, a triathlon, sky diving, surfing the waves in Hawaii or skiing the slopes of Colorado. Doing one new thing that you’re afraid to do, is the way to become the powerful woman you want to be.
Your work is to go forth into this physical environment looking for things that are a vibrational match to joy, connecting to Source Energy and then following them with the inspired action

If you’re ready for an exciting, new challenge, begin your solo road trip experiences with a short trip - a few hours, a full day, a weekend or when you’re ready, 5-14days or longer. I invite you to perceive your road trip as a self-improvement workshop on wheels, a tool for transformation, a metaphor for your rite of passage, your inner journey of self-discovery.
Your road trip can be an exciting opportunity to embrace the courage you never knew existed within you, to find creative solutions to difficult problems and to identify and release selfimposed limitations. Your road trip is a journey that offers you the opportunity to develop strategies and skills to live life with deeper meaning, purpose and ultimately find a new level of inner peace. With each road trip, you can dig deeply into the recesses of who you are to discover talents and skills you never knew existed within yourself. Use each road trip to become more empowered, to go from where you are to where and who you want to be, in every area of your life.
Wherever you choose to travel is irrelevant. The purpose of your spiritual journey is to connect to the strong, responsible, brilliant, vibrant, dynamic, self-confident, courageous, nurturing, selfreliant, problem-solving Goddess within you.
It’s not your job to like me - it’s mine.

MY ROAD TRIPS
I began my solo road trip adventures 22 years ago in 1987, driving from CA to NY and camping out all the way across the U.S. I was terrified and knew that this trip was a bigger challenge than anything I had ever done before. I knew that if I can complete this trip alone, I would arrive in NY a stronger, more self-reliant and courageous woman. And indeed I did, meeting many challenges head-on along the way. I have driven on many road trips since, visiting 37 states, most recently from Florida through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, through the Blue Ridge Mountains to Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C. until I reached New York.
I wrote this book in response to the many requests for such a manual over the years from women and from men who love their women. All were amazed and curious as to why I would want to drive alone for hours and days when I could fly faster, safer with less stress. Furthermore, they said if I took an airplane rather than a car, I could arrive anywhere in the U.S. in just a few hours and even get to sleep and read enroute.
Do you choose the easy way or the more challenging way to reach your goal? Write about it in your journal.
Why do I drive instead of fly? I regularly respond with the same answer, ‘the purpose of my road trips is multi-faceted. Yes, part of it is getting from Destination A to Destination B. However, it’s more than that for me. It’s about self-discovery, problem solving, exercising my free-will, discovering my own power and inner strength, making my own choices, becoming skilled in handling emergencies calmly and reasonably when they arise, letting go of self-imposed limitations and beliefs, discovering/ confronting known/ unknown fears and taking on the challenge to become more resilient, more self-reliant than I was yesterday; not letting fear and doubt run my life; that I can pick myself up, dust myself off and start all over again no matter what the challenge is before me."
Think about a time when you made a difficult choice that taught you something about yourself? Write in your journal.
WHY DO I SUGGEST YOU DO A SOLO ROAD TRIP?
A solo road trip can be a tool for transformation, your selfimprovement workshop on wheels, your spiritual adventure to explore your body, mind, heart and soul and expand your world. You have the opportunity to learn something new about yourself and other people, everyday on every trip, as there are new challenges to confront each time - new opportunities to inspire growth and change.
Within the pages of this Manual, you’ll find information about the potential benefits of your road trip and a description of circumstances that may propel you to embark on a road trip as a spiritual journey. You’ll find supportive tools which have inspired and guided me on my trips: lists, affirmations, prayers, visualizations and practical tips for a safe and successful road trip adventure. I also recommend that you purchase a copy of The Goddess Road Trip Journal: A Companion for the Goddess Road Trip Manual, to record your experiences, thoughts, feelings and insights.
Where would you like to go on your solo road trip and what lessons would you like to learn. Write in your journal.
You wanted answers to the questions, "Was I ever afraid and what did I do? If I ever got lost and how did it feel? If I was ever bored or fatigued along the way and how did I resolve it? Did I ever get sick on the road and what did I do? Did my car ever break down and how did I handle it? How did I know where to stay overnight? What kind of planning did I do to prepare for each solo road trip? Did I face any challenges along the way?" This manual is filled with answers to these questions and much, much
