About the Book
Life In The Diaspora, Ups & Downs, can be described as a reality show which has been transcribed into words. I use the term reality show because each writer lived and experienced the situations described from a place of mistakes, trials, tragedies, lessons and testimonies. Instead of keeping these stories to themselves, they chose to share their joys and pains, their private ups and downs, so that others can benefit.
Diaspora is a person or group of people living outside their motherland or original country of birth. Each writer migrated to another country with nothing but uncertainty, fear and hope for a better future. This book isn’t only for immigrants; anyone, regardless of race, nationality or culture can relate to the struggles and accomplishments of the writers. Readers will learn how to overcome real life challenges with perseverance, determination and hard work.
These stories will ignite a fire within the reader to keep pushing forward, and not to give up on yourself and life. You will be uplifted, inspired and motivated to take life by the horns.
A common theme in each chapter is that you can always start all over to achieve your dreams and purpose, regardless of your age or financial status.
This book will be a manual for generations to come. By reading this, they may learn and appreciate the foundation and sacrifice laid by their forefathers and foremothers in a foreign country so they could have a great life.
The book is for anyone going through tough and challenging times in life. These stories are designed to create a paradigm shift in attitude and a mindset as a victor and not a victim. You will begin to dream big, to envision a life of endless possibilities, full of opportunities. Sit back, relax and enjoy the read.
