This self-help book is effective as it explains actual life lessons and real-life memoirs that are stimulating yet thought provoking in a emotional way for a reader; this then empathizes and embraces their own personal life skills and experience, showing that obstacles are an event for individuals to grasp, learn, and move on from, enabling the attitude that change can happen to anyone if you just make that choice. The memoirs illustrate real life events which can be and have been experienced in some way by many; therefore, readers are able to not feel like they themselves have been dealt bad cards. Consequences of Success at each chapter finishes with a message pinpointing the actual skill and tool to engage with from the particular obstacle and use from a similar experience the reader has an emotional attachment with; the key skill such as resilience or courage they had to use during this period. In addition an action word is included to then use and work on within the persons daily life. A common fact is the conditioning of individuals who use their family life and/or experiences as a reason why they are stuck and therefore find it difficult to make changes to achieve the best that they can be. Consequences to Success illustrates steps and actions.
