Dedication
This book is dedicated to one and only God who has brought me through all the challenging scenes of life and reaffirmed His words through me.
This book is further dedicated in memory of my parents who instilled Godly discipline and precepts in our lives; my family, friends and colleagues who stood with us through thick and thin. Your prayers are answered.
We live in a world where we are constantly bombarded with news and information on challenges that we face individually and/or collectively. For example, in a recent news, we were told that the result of the annual survey conducted by the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP) revealed that nearly 16% of high school teens nationwide admitted they had considered suicide within the previous year due to insecurity; we also know according to the Enrichment Journal (EJ) that the divorce rate in the nation for first marriage is about 41%, second marriage 60% and third marriage 73%. We all feel the impact of the slow global economy, and finally, we read about most of our veterans returning from the battle field facing unemployment or having post-traumatic stress disorders (pstd) syndromes and the like.
All are signs of difficult times, stress and unfulfilled dreams for others. Some have questioned if they could ever be able to face the next day or what the future holds for them. I have written this book to tell you that fear not there is another better day in sight. Turn your eyes upon Jesus and He is the only one who holds the future. If you find yourself in any of the categories described, this book is further dedicated to you to encourage you that you need to hold on – It is well.
I would like to give special thanks to my wonderful brother; Professor Sola Ogunniyi for his hard work and dedication who made sure that the manuscripts were vetted and for useful comments from the publisher that helped me to reconstruct and completed the editing of the entire manuscripts. Finally, I also thank all my friends who made comments and contributions to the book.
Foreword
C:\Users\user\Desktop\Ogunniyi 2.jpgI am delighted to be a part of this success story! By completing this autobiography, Victor has added another jewel to his crown. In his travails in life, he faced various challenges which led him to put pen to paper to document his experiences. Not many of us can do this well, and with all the chronological details. I salute the courage of Victor to put his life story together as a lesson to others and as a living testimony to his unwavering faith in God. The style of writing and the detailed contents are worthy of commendation. Victor has shown his flair for narrative exposition with exquisite details spiced with relevant bible passages. He has used this book to send a message to others that even if we face challenges in life, our faith in God must be unshakable. He has detailed his work experience and family life for us readers to learn from. He never succumbed even when the odds appeared to be against him in terms of finances and job situations. His demonstrated dogged resistance to injustice and corruption underlie his upbringing in life. He never fell prey to coercion throughout his career.
I am blessed to have Victor as my loving brother. He is hardworking, generous, kind, resolute, dependable and willing to take on challenges. To me, he is constant like the northern star, a devoted family man and a devout Christian. The free-flowing style of the narration and the apt quotations make the book a compelling read for individuals facing tough challenges and those seeking succor. I therefore commend the interesting book, the first from this nascent writer, to all those who care for fairness. I am confident that this book will also be a useful addition
to the available literature for strengthening faith and courage necessary for facing tomorrow
We serve a living God. It is well.

Introduction
"The Lord knows the way through our wilderness
All we have got to do is to follow
Anywhere He Leads me I will follow Him"

We live in a society where people like to know about our background and values, hence when we meet new people, we usually start a conversation or what I call breaking the ice with expressions like; where are you from originally? To some of us who have accent or pronunciation issues, the conversation gets into the second train comprising of response, and further interrogation; the response is usually in an exclamation form oh cool!; yes, I noticed that you have an accent or I love your accent, and the conversation continues; so how did you come to be leaving in the States? My response is usually; it is a long story. I am sure many of us will relate to what I am talking about.
I have always had the inclination that I will write my story on how my family got to the States as a memoir and documentary record for my children because they were young when we left our country Nigeria. I wanted to share some of the good values of our society that money or prosperity cannot buy; to let them appreciate, embrace and understand our humble beginning and how we survived in spite of the odds against us. However, I was not sure on how to present my story that will make it interesting and easy to follow.
So, the project of writing a book has always been a moving target with much said than done because I saw the art of writing as gruesome and something that I was not capable of accomplishing. Simply put, I could not fathom how to start, where to start, what will be the theme of my story and how it will be put together. You will therefore understand my admiration for those book writers who produced books with ease as if it was no big deal. I did make an effort to contact few writers who could help to do this for me and all of them came back with the same answer that nobody can tell your story better than yourself. Every time I hit this wall I stopped thinking about a book and shelved the idea aside.
I grew up in a society where opportunities are limited and where it is every parent’s dream to give their child the best training and education. Therefore, to accomplish this, it was the primary goal of the parents then to be aligned to this responsibility and the only way this could be achieved is
