Shadows & Shade

About this ebook
In this journal, I aim to demonstrate to the world that there are people who need to hear the word spoken in verse that scampers across pages in manners that witfully seem unrehearsed, yet so bold that it lights up pages. He who speaks, has the abilities to rule; yet, he who is humble, too, may project enough confidence to be of great influence.

Once again, I, the Great Tefleezy, greet you. This time I have found a way to take every experience that I have encountered since my previous work and turn it into influential rhetoric, rants, and disturbing releases of emotions – truly a piece of work. In this journal, I give credit to the IV Kyler for the inspiration to move my mind, while he gives you a peace of his mind. You may detect my appreciation for his contributions to the art – extending the legacy of artist.
Again, I aim to move you. Again, it is not about me – humility. Though, I use you to fulfill my arrogance and my needs to illuminate me, I do this for you who have been loyal influencers and devoted listeners to me. And, when each page in turned, I hope I keep you wondering what in the world was I thinking to have the nerve to bring you these words in these manners.
Shadows and Shade is written with purpose, along the path of what I see as my righteous journey. And, along this path, rightfully so, there is shade, there are shadows, friends, foes, and there are many who may want to show their asses. But, within the shade and shadows, I stand in defense of you, demonstrating my gift for the gab. May you find that poetic pleasure is the gift that I give, and may it be better to you than the last gift you had.
Doesn’t Mean Shit
Feels good to be in the midst of a fantasy,
Trusting the better judgment of the government,
Miles above the concrete in metals that rattles like my school bus did,
Living life better than I look like I should be,
Compared to other grown ass kids,
Riding on the rewards of my established legacy,
And a few stipends coined as perks on my elections,
Under the influence of what I am to those who help me be who I am,
While I lose those who envy who I am and strive to be,
While I tally my blessings,
Blowing the dust from the yeast in my pockets,
While some love ones do what so called love ones tend to do,
Leaving my feet dangling from the retraction of the foundation that they swore to me,
Knowing that no matter how candid I am when I mob,
All that I don't nail down can come unglued,
And lost in the shadows of those who oppose me,
Some may be family,
For all who follow me may not be obligated to me,
The avocado that ripened, fell, and navigated away from the tree,
but who am I but a figure in the loop of the machinations of evil portraits of adversity,
A tear in the cloud of what encourages extended family,
Blinded by the disguises of love, support, trust, endeavors, and the plans for what should warrant synonyms of happy,
Knowing that she by my side may not be behind me in better faces,
Nor in the spaces reserved for the places my influences should take her,
Unless I keep doing things on the pace that I am doing,
Unless I learn to shift my focus from time to time and worry about what others do,
Instead if my usual analysis of what others may be capable of or prone to
