About this ebook

The Unofficial Playbook of Instagram Flirting for Millennial Christian Women is a manual designed to help its audience and readers navigate the over saturated and daunting world of social networking while still maintaining sound Christian values and integrity. On the surface, the book provides a combination of tips and rules to help the millennial Christian woman ideally position herself to be found in the virtual marketplace of love and relationship. However, the book's purest intent is to entertain its readers while empowering, encouraging and inspiring them to be secure in their season of singleness and more importantly, their identity in Christ.

    About the Author

    Dedication

To girlfriend group chats globally where no topic is off limits, where every subject is brought up for discussion, where screenshots, memes, and videos are shared and scrutinized, where every double standard provoking the female gender is questioned and challenged.

To this sacred space where fears, insecurities, imperfections, and inadequacies are shared without judgment, and instead met with loving correction, celebration, support, encouragement, inspiration, prayer, and an active, daily display of love, appreciation, and affection. Thank you.

Cheers to every group video chat where bellies hang loose, hair is unkempt, wigs are relieved of duty mid-conversation, mouthfuls of food engage in dialogue, pimples are compared and popped, and bras are nowhere in sight.

Also, to every God-girl out there growing and glowing while waiting on Jesus to tap her on the shoulder and say, That’s him, that’s the one, I see you, I feel you, I hear you. We are in this together; we are living the fantasy dream together.

To the Black Millennial Christian men who ignore the single, saved, and sanctified, but without hesitation pursue the single, unsaved, and not fully sanctified, I have questions and I need answers. Until then, we have unresolved issues, Brotha man.

Ericka, Meisha, Marrisa, Shelly, and Simone, this is all your fault.

    Introduction: The Reason

Much like any action or path to success, there are different rules, guides, strategies, and steps that are required to arrive at a desired outcome. I know this all too well because I’m a DIY kinda gal. Currently, as I gaze around my apartment, there are seven items that I managed to put together with my bare hands: a hammer, some screws, and a Phillips head screwdriver. Though I would love to take all the credit for all the seven items, I’m afraid I can’t do so in good faith. You see, each item came with a manual which included valuable instructions with organized steps necessary for me to follow in order to successfully build my bookshelf, my coffee table, my hallway table, my shoe shelf, my kitchen table, and the two stools that came with it. Having the skills to get the job done simply isn’t enough. However, skills accompanied by strategy almost always result in success.

In the same way that I used manuals to successfully mount and accomplish my DIY projects I enjoy reading books that act somewhat as manuals and guides for me to become the best version of myself. Some of my favorite self-help books or life hack DIY manuals are Soul Virgins by Doug Rosenau and Michael Todd Wilson, Make It Count and Thrive Or Survive by Nicole McLaren Campbell, Successful Women Think Differently by Valorie Burton, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey, Dave Ramsay’s The Total Money Makeover, The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene, Sarah Jakes Roberts’ Don’t Settle for Safe, and Soar by the incomparable Bishop T. D. Jakes. Then there are the books of the Bible—some of which I still need to read, while others I’ve read once or twice—and then there are the ones I read or visit every day to keep me afloat. The Bible is the godfather of manuals, the manual of all manuals when it comes on to fixing things and making them worthy.

As you might have realized by now, one of my favorite things to do is read. I personally own over a hundred hard-copy books and at least twenty e-books. About a year ago, I went on a tour to Columbia University, and the thing that I found most interesting and most enticing during the entire tour was the library. Reading for me is a method of increasing my knowledge. I love being in the know. I am inquisitive, I am observant, and I value intellect. If I may be brutally honest, an intelligent, intellectual, knowledgeable, and wise man is
