For everyone wanting to lose weight
and enjoy better sex
Introduction
If you are in a relationship and you are both overweight, ask yourself if it’s something you discuss as a couple. You can help support each other to lose weight, particularly if either or both of you think it’s affecting your sexuality. If you don’t talk about this, it’s now time you did. You need to be completely open and honest with each other, but very gentle and understanding and tell each other what you would like the others ideal weight to be. What weight would you want your partner to be, for you to find them their most sexually attractive? Ask what it is about this ideal weight body that your partner finds the biggest turn on. Did one or the other of you have this ideal, or near to, body weight when you met? We do need to be realistic and most people put on a little weight in their 40’s and 50’s which is natural, but one stone of extra weight is quite enough for anyone! It’s also important to realise that one stone can creep up to one and a half very easily, so if you are a little cuddly, you need to make sure you maintain your weight, rather than gain anymore. If you and your partner are being honest with each other, most people will say they found their partner more attractive when they were thinner.
Sex in longer term relationships can be dull – it depends entirely on both people involved, but when dullness is also shrouded with obesity, there’s often not much chance of sex at all, let alone great sex. Work, children, life in general, always pushing sex out of the queue, but when you’re overweight, sex is often not even in the queue! It’s no wonder really. If you ask most people their ideal sexual fantasy perfect person, most will choose someone fit and healthy and gorgeous. It’s in our DNA to be that way. Thankfully, it’s also in our DNA to love the person on the inside, because we don’t all look like George Clooney or Julia Roberts, but when you fall in love with the fitter, slimmer healthier person and they change, it can cause resentment and a lack of attraction.
Losing weight can seem like a mountain in front of you that is too difficult to climb. There is fear of hunger, grief for food you can’t eat, impatience because you want to be slim NOW and worry because of failing yourself, or others, yet again. You want to wake up in the morning and be slim, yet because you know that cannot happen, you dither about making the decision to take that first step onto the mountain and start your journey. You’ve probably been telling yourself you will do it at some point in the future, but it never happens and you continue your search for some miraculous way for you to be slim.
There are no miracles – not anywhere – but I am going to help you start and continue your slimming journey to lose it – slowly and for good!
You are going to learn to totally re-evaluate your self, your body and your relationship with food. You will learn how to understand your own body rhythms and requirements for nutrition, so that you naturally eat when your BODY requires food, rather than eating because your MIND tells you to. I’m going to show you all the healthy food you can eat and teach you how to understand your own body, so that you know how much to feed the individual, highly complex machine that your body is.
You will know how to shift your body from an upward spiral of weight gain to a downward spiral of weight loss, so that you can just happily get on with your life, knowing your weight is slowly decreasing, rather than slowly increasing. There is a task in the book which is very important to the decision you are finally going to make about getting the weight off.
If you have overweight children, there are ideas on how to feed them properly, from a nutritional point of view, with food they will like, so they can lose weight too. The book discusses sex, when overweight and when slim, acupuncture, vitamin supplementation, the psychological aspects of constant dieting and binge eating. It encourages people to buy locally produced fresh food where possible, but it is a light, easy and amusing book to read. Under all that extra weight is the slim, sexy you and you’re going to find that person again!
The benefits of being slim
Have you ever noticed when perhaps you're in love, or feeling great about yourself, happy, positive and on top of the world, how other people look at you? Have you felt like that recently? Not easy when you are disgusted with your size and ashamed of your body. You are the only one who can change this. Losing weight will mean your health will improve, but most of all it means you will improve because you will gain back your sense of self worth as an individual. It will be a huge sense of accomplishment-something you have done for yourself, by yourself. It will also be something you will want to hang onto forever. Whether you're single or married, you are going to be more attractive and sexier to others when you're not overweight. Your general health will improve and you will not be so susceptible to the diseases associated with obesity, so you may well prolong your life. We all know that we require exercise, but this is not easy when you're carrying around a few extra kilos of weight, so when that goes, exercise will be easier for you. No matter how overweight you are, we all have to start from somewhere and that somewhere is you making the decision to change your body.
You were not born overweight and the reason you are now is that you have been using the wrong fuel in the body that's your machine. Not only have you been using the wrong fuel, but you have been overdosing on the amount your machine needs to use. This is what has caused the problem. You have got to get off the dieter's hamster wheel and stop obsessing about food. When you learn to understand the relationship your body has with food, you will realise that eating, first and foremost is about being healthy and secondly for pleasure. What you have been doing is focusing purely on the pleasure, without even a thought about the real reason you should be eating anything at all. If you want to lose weight,
