About this ebook
Beat Your Procrastination And Tackle Your To-Do List The Right Way
Do you tend to put things off, make excuses for missed deadlines, and generally find yourself starting things you don't finish?
A university-wide study proved that procrastinators routinely experienced more stress and received worse grades after putting off studying.
There's no need to be ashamed of it. In this tech and media inundated age we live in, instant gratification is a click away at every turn. This predictably lures us away from what we should be doing.
Did you know that the average person is distracted or interrupted every 40 seconds when working in front of a computer?
The effect is so pervasive in fact that one study found that the proportion of self-identified procrastinators has increased by 400% since the 1970s.
So, needless to say, all of us delay from time to time. The time for concern, though, is when you regularly avoid your priorities.
Many that have had an ongoing issue with procrastinating are resistant to addressing it. They assume it's just how they are and can make things work within this way of operating.
That's selling yourself short, though. If you're procrastinating, you're actually working harder than you need to for less benefit. And with a few simple shifts in behavior and environment, you can realize quick, lasting gains.
Here is a select sample of what you´ll discover in How to Analyze People - The Procrastination Puzzle:
- Understanding the underlying issues and assumptions that lead to procrastination
- Eliminating this one trigger from your environment will cut your procrastination in half
- Finding what will sustainably motivate you to change your behavior
- Why procrastination has nothing to do with self-control, but what you need instead
- Identifying and reworking the thought patterns that are causing you to delay or avoid your most important tasks
- Building the competence needed to take immediate action on any task (even if you hate it)
- The pitfalls to avoid if you are easily distracted
- All you need to know about procrastinators and why it can be actually good to put something off
- The most powerful strategies for organizing your life and workload to avoid overwhelm and optimize your productivity
And much more.
You might have tried everything to stop your procrastination, but nothing has helped. The truth is, you didn't understand the "why" behind your inability to start.
Procrastination is more about our emotions and environment, less about our "laziness". If you follow the right guidance even procrastinators at heart can fully kick procrastination to the curb.

Introduction
If you are one of those people who has a tendency to put things off, it may not be all your fault. At least, it may be a habit that you have acquired and takes place because you have it recorded in your subconscious that this is the way you deal with problems. I have good news for you. The habits that you have registered in your subconscious are not permanent and can be overwritten. You can get beyond the puzzle of procrastination but perhaps you need a little pushing in the right direction.
This book looks at procrastination and explains all of the reasons why this may be your approach to responsibilities or tasks that you really don’t want to start. It also shows you the reason why procrastination exists and gives you an insight into how you can stop it from happening. If you really want to change your life, now is the right time. There is a very good reason for that. Now is usually the time when you throw the book to one side and decide that your way is better. Believe me, it isn’t. Your way is what has got you as far as you are in your life. My way works better than that and there’s absolutely no reason for you to continue to take a sluggish approach to life.
When you overcome procrastination and all that goes with it, you improve your own potential and at the same time improve your chances at work as well as your relationships at home. Procrastination doesn’t have borders. It doesn’t just apply to work. Look at your life from an honest perspective and if you really do want help, then buy the book, because you are a few steps away from learning a new way. You can make all of the excuses in the world, but none of them help you to advance in your life. Imagine if you learned procrastination as a child. Chances are you would still be sitting on the floor and not making an attempt to take a steady step toward walking. Unfortunately, adults don’t have the resilience that babies do and that’s why procrastination happens in the first place. Follow me as we unlock the puzzle that has become a regular part of your life.
Chapter One: What is Procrastination?
Procrastination is when you know that you have something to do, but find alternatives simply because you do not want to do the job that you should be doing. You can make all of the excuses in the world, but after a while, it becomes habit forming. You do it enough times and your subconscious mind sees it as your normal response to being asked to do something. It becomes automatic and you don’t even have to think about it. You simply avoid doing what you are meant to be doing. You may have deadlines in your life, but if you are a procrastinator, you will make up a million reasons why you don’t meet those deadlines or you will make no allowance at all for last minute panics, thinking you can solve those details at another time. People who procrastinate are those people who put off studying until the day before the exam. Then, they wonder why their scores are so low. They blame the world and do not generally face up to responsibility.
The pleasure factor comes into the subject of procrastination and often people who procrastinate will find more pleasurable things to do than those that they should be doing. Make no mistake, when someone is procrastinating, you may think that they look very busy. They are clever at finding alternative things to make them look busy, but basically shy away from the things they should be doing.
One of the psychological links that comes up time and time again is that
