Unwavering Love - Michael P Buckley

    Prologue

Two lovers who had a rough start. Susan at five-years-old and John at six-years-old. After Susan’s family moved in next door. John hated having a girl move in and not a boy. Soon that changed and a strong friendship and strong family values took over. Filled with tragedy and hardship, their love for each other never wavered. Through separation, near death. Never losing hope and staying true to each other.

    CHAPTER 1

John Erickson heard his mother hollering for him for lunch. He knew his mother would give him ten minutes only. After that she’d tell him she ate it herself, she thought he’s not hungry because he did not come when she called.

He loved fishing at the small lake, lots of largemouth bass, he’d catch one if she did not disturb him for lunch.

The advantages in living in a small town in central FL far outweighed the disadvantages. Such as the big one his mom told him about new neighbors moving in next door in a week. He was the only kid in the small neighborhood of mostly older retirees.

Guess what? She said They have a little girl by the name of Susan and she’s five years old, you’ll have a new playmate to go fishing with..

Mom she’s a girl, they don’t know how to fish, play football or anything else boys do, and I’m not going to play barbie dolls with her.

He could care less about the girl moving in as long as she kept away from him.

"He thought of his bad luck, why not a boy, why a stupid girl, their useless.

He turned 6 almost a year ago, a five-year-old, just a little kid. He might be only six, but he could catch bass with the best of them.

The week went by fast and the neighbors moving truck pulled in to the yard next door, little Susan jumps out of the truck giving orders to her mom, John thought, boy is she bossy.

He looked her over, with her short hair she looked more like a boy than a girl, loud like a boy. He did not like her from the start.

Angela, Susan’s mother came over to John’s house to introduce herself to John’s parents. They seemed to get along and his mom invited them in, she told them she would fix up some burgers, she knew they had to be hungry after traveling.

Thank you that would be nice. Said Angela.

    where’s your husband? Beverly asked.

he was killed in a home invasion when Susan was only two years old, so it’s just the two of them now.

    I’m sorry to hear that

It’s been hard, I loved him with all my heart, not easy raising a little girl by yourself, she needs a dad and now he’s gone.

He would help out whenever he could. Dale said.

Beverly and Dale after they finished eating helped unload the small moving truck.

Had only a few of the important things she needed and the furniture and everything, scheduled for

tomorrow with a moving company, they will bring everything in and set up everything.

She told them when matt died, he left a large insurance policy and that they own real-estate which allowed her to buy the house and set up her daughter’s college fund.

I’m a stay at home mom which makes it easier to take care of her daughter.

He owns a small construction company and Beverly is a stay at home mom also. Dale said.

It did not take long, toys were thrown, Susan got mad at John and threw a small toy airplane and hit his head, he did not cry, though he wanted to, he had to act tough.

Mom keep that crazy girl away from me, see what she did? That’s going to leave a bruise, she’s crazy.

Susan screamed He called me a sissy, what should I have done, smiled?

They both ran off to their own houses and slammed the doors.

Angela said, I’m so sorry, don’t know what got into her.

"Not to worry John can be a pain in the ass sometimes
