About this ebook

Night can be as welcoming as an old friend, or cold as a spurned lover - doubly so when you're a werewolf. Can two outcasts from society find love in the dark?

Lone wolf Zo has learned to be wary around the humans who fear him, but he has no idea what to do when he meets another lycanthrope for the first time. Of all the things he could learn from older, more experienced Théo, a way to love again is last on his list - but as the shadows grow longer, the two will grow closer, even if one of them has to be tied up to let his animal instincts run wild. What will Zo and Théo discover behind the cage bars in Zo's basement? Memories, pain, desire... and the lust of the wolf within!

Read on for 5500 words of steamy, romantic werewolf smut!

Excerpt:

"I don't want to hurt you," Théo breathed. The admission was shocking from him, his unguardedness leaving Zo to marvel.

"You won't," Zo reassured him. His eyes flitted to the chain on the floor. "I've handled much worse."

"I -- I don't want to feel alone." The last words came out in a faltering sigh as Théo exhaled heavily. He looked up at Zo, vulnerable but willing to speak his own need aloud.

Zo read the confirmation in his voice and his eyes and took Théo's face in his hands at last, cupping his cheeks as their lips brushed, then met, then melted into a kiss.

His body stiffened against Zo's own; he gently braced him against the cage bars, continuing to kiss his lips cheeks neck as he undid Théo's tie, began unbuttoning his shirt. The moans rose unbidden from his partner's throat, very much like the call of a lone wolf to the moon.

They sank against each other together, two bodies and one need.

From the moment he caught the scent, Zo knew he was being followed by another wolf. His body's response gave it away. First the hairs on the nape of his neck stood erect, then his hackles rose involuntarily. In the musty, disused air of the library, the smell of another wolf's musk was pungent, immediately noticeable. Zo's nose twitched, but he deliberately calmed his breathing, willed away the feedback of his own werewolf biology. No need to make a scene - it could endanger him, and give away the element of surprise.

Instead of turning around, he spent another five minutes studiously scanning the bookshelves in front of him. To any casual observer, he was just a scruffy young man unusually interested in literature. In his faded band t-shirt with the flannel button-up on top, he probably came off as a hipster in search of the last great American novel. Truthfully, Zo's eyes flickered across titles like Lycanthropy in the Middle Ages and Werewolf Legends: Myth and Fact, while all his other senses were on high alert.
