About this ebook

Two rival kingdoms, Khemet and Elladia, stand in the desert, ruled by kings of equal strength. When one devises a plan to test his enemy's prowess, their struggle takes them from the wrestling floor to the bedchamber, with both kings determined to come out on top!

King Sobekh of Khemet is known for many things: his youth, his physique, his extravagant harem full of beautiful concubines. But when he comes face to face with Alexos, King of Elladia, in his own palace, he only cares about showing his longtime enemy how he handles intruders. For Sobekh is not only king, but the divine avatar of the leopard-god—a terrifying beast that dominates in both fights and the bedroom—and he has no intention of letting Alexos escape the palace alive.

Alexos, however, has a different plan: nothing less than the seduction of Sobekh, to prove his superiority over the Khemetian king. And the so-called "Bear King" of Elladia possesses hidden powers of his own... ones he'll use to every advantage, whether he beats Sobekh by brawn or by sexual skill!

Read on for 10,000 words of gay shifter smut, featuring wrestling, muscle kink, and rough, enemies-to-lovers sex!

Excerpt:

“I came to test your strength,” the king of Elladia said.

“Interesting.” Sobekh ran his fingers down the back of his favorite chair. “By infiltrating my harem?”

“I wanted to find out if a prime specimen of Elladian beauty could seduce you,” Alexos said, then added, “It seems to have worked well so far. You chose me from a quite extraordinary lineup.”

He laughed aloud at the look on Sobekh’s face. “There’s no shame in it, your majesty. More covenants than you know have been settled between two rulers in the bedroom. Let’s resolve our differences that way; I’ll show you how Elladians are superior on the battleground and between the sheets.”

The insolence of this suggestion—and Alexos’ clear belief it would be accepted—beggared belief. Sobekh was halfway to a retort before a stirring in his chest gave him pause. Uncomfortable as it was to admit, he had planned to sate his desires tonight; the leopard’s hunger still drove him forward, gnawing and insistent. If he could divorce the man from his Elladian heritage, from everything he stood for, Alexos did cut a fine figure standing there on his palace floor. He wasn’t the woman Sobekh was expecting, but he had a certain magnetism that was hard to ignore.

That said, there was no way for him to disregard the insult posed by an Elladian trying to seduce him. Such arrogance could not be borne without consequence.

“I’m afraid nothing of the sort will be happening,” Sobekh said. “Not here, not tonight, and not with me.”

I will see my newest concubines in the harem now, said King Sobekh, Ruler of the River Delta, Bearer of the Leopard God’s Gift and Dominion-Holder of All Souls in Khemet.

His counselor bowed with his palms pressed together and left the room, walking backwards so he did not offend the king by presenting his rear. Sobekh watched him go: a portly man, anxious to please, who often said nothing instead of risking a tongue-tied response.

The door to his chambers closed behind him. Sobekh rose from his favorite chair and walked to the window, pushing aside the linen curtain so he could look on his kingdom. By day it was a gem shining in the desert, the proud pillars of Khemet announcing its supremacy to the gods. By night the gem’s glow diminished, but as Sobekh surveyed the sprawl of his capital city, illuminated by the lights of every household whose souls he commanded, with his palace set in the center like a jewel in a golden ring, satisfaction bloomed throughout his body. It felt good to know that Khemet’s dignified beauty outstripped all other countries in the world.

Such thoughts, however, could not occupy his mind for long. The counselor had promised him a new batch of beauties this night—each plucked from the finest families of Khemet—and he wanted to assess them, perhaps even choose one to summon to his bedchamber to serve their king.

Usually he let the women of his seraglio pass their days in idleness, save for the requisite pampering that kept them fit for the king’s satisfaction. A monthly visit to the harem sufficed to sate his appetite—and that of the god inside him.

But the leopard had grown hungry of late.

Sobekh paced to his wardrobe, an expansive affair that housed all manner of clothing, jewelry and cosmetics, while searching within himself for the voice of the beast. The blood of gods ran within his veins, and when he wished for it he could hear it calling to him: its wants, its needs, its animal desires.

Yes, the leopard within wanted gratification. Not the violence of a fresh kill, but a more carnal hunger, one that could only be sated by the warmth of a woman between his bedsheets. The best of the new arrivals to his harem would serve nicely.

Walking up to his mirror, the king eyed himself. Imperially slim, he tended to stand with one hip cocked, a posture that emphasized the lines of his body under the customary linen
