Excerpt:

Things like this didn't come easy to her, at least not usually, so why was Anna now so confident in moving her body against the Goatman's? Even with his more familiar form he was eerie, alien, wild. The thought might have been more disquieting in someone other than Anna, who believed in anything and everything and furthermore wanted to be awed and amazing by new things.

Kissing the Goatman was a new thing; grinding against him was certainly new. Anna let her instincts take over and guide her in this dance of body with body, surrendering to the novelty and how oddly natural it all felt.

Like when the Goatman's hands dropped to her waist and squeezed her there, bringing her closer, removing any atom of distance between them. That felt good, and right, as if those hands belonged there. Anna leaned into him then, relishing the strength she could feel in the Goatman's tensed muscles, knowing it would not be used to hurt her. She paused to take a breath from the kiss and the Goatman groaned, a plaintive sound. That made her smile and nuzzle his neck before pressing her lips there lightly. The groan turned into a low moan of pleasure.

Anna nipped at his pulse, feeling it quicken under her playful teeth. Her insides were coiling with a tight, ferocious desire that was far from familiar to her, but if she was going to take the lead that meant letting her instincts guide her. As she sucked and nibbled at the same place, drawing long moans from the Goatman's throat, her hand slid down from chest to abdomen, questing closer till she met long, shaggy fur... then something hard.

When Anna Kingsley hit the trail for the first time, she couldn't have been further from prepared. The park ranger looked her up and down skeptically, not bothering to hide her doubt, when Anna walked up to her in light jean shorts, sneakers, and a drawstring backpack. She stood in stark contrast to all the other hikers around her, who took to their surroundings in protective gear and practical, heavy boots. So the ranger who surveyed her sounded appropriately disbelieving when she asked, You taking this trail today?

Yes, replied Anna, pushing some hair behind her ear. She hadn't even brought a barrette or baseball cap to secure it out of her face.

The ranger's expression curled down even further, if that was possible. Sure you wouldn't rather try another day? We're supposed to be getting some weather later in the afternoon – bad for beginning hikers.

That's alright, Anna said easily. I like the rain.

That drew an outright snort from the ranger, which Anna ignored. Her dreamy look didn't change; she continued to gaze out at the trail extending far before her, hazel eyes locked into the distance. No matter how poorly she'd prepped for this trek, there was no way this civil servant was going to prevent her for going.

The ranger seemed to realize the same thing, for her demeanor towards Anna loosened up slightly. The frown between her eyebrows lessened. You'll want to start over there, she said, pointing towards a sign post indicating the official beginning of the trail. Off to the east here we got a lodge where you can use the ladies' and fill up your water bottle. Pick up a brochure if you want to. She rolled her eyes to show what
