    Introduction: What is Confidence and Why is it Important?

    Confidence is a term that refers to a person’s awareness of his or her own capabilities. If you are a confident individual, then it means you are aware of your capabilities and feel secure in that knowledge. The security of being confident does not include arrogance. Confidence is related to a realistic acceptance of one’s abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.

    Confident individuals:

    Have a deep sense of security

    Have a sincere belief in their strengths and skills to overcome challenges as they arise

    Have a sense of preparedness for tests, classes, and competitions

    Believe they can rather than they can’t

    Confidence can also be understood by comparing it with arrogance and low self-esteem. Confidence is identifying and appreciating what you are good at, the value your skills provide and behaving in a way that reveals this aspect of your personality to other people.
