The EAT HOT...LOOK HOT diet has four major benefits over other diets. First, it should not slow down your resting metabolic rate in response to dieting, as other diets do. Normally, the body’s intelligence fears starvation and in a survival response, will slow the rate in which it burns calories in the future, to preserve its fat stores. That may have worked well for our ancestors, hunkering down for the next deep frost, but in today’s world where the supermarket is down the road, most people don’t welcome the extra padding.
By contrast, the 15 thermogenic foods that are the cornerstone of EAT HOT...LOOK HOT, all raise the metabolic rate. Furthermore, the studies I will present to you in Book 3 of this series will show you that rebound weight gain does not occur when weight is lost by this unique method.
The next point of differentiation comes as a result of the distinction mentioned just above. It’s about control and convenience. Most diets require you to be on the plan for weeks, months, years, and maybe even forever. Not so with this diet because there is no rebound weight gain. No yo-yo effect.
