Debra R. Banks is an author and speaker with a natural drive to live life to its fullest and to encourage those close to her to do the same. For many years she coached friends and family on her approaches to health and wellness. In 2013 she took that interest to the next level and graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where she received certification as a health coach. Debra wrote this book as a love letter to two dear friends that expressed frustration with the challenges of making life changes to improve their health and well-being. One was a friend that she had not seen in person for more than ten years. When they reconnected, Debra had much to share about her current healthy lifestyle. She quickly learned that lifestyle changes were not built in a day. Her solution was to write this book and to create the three-step system as a way to encourage both of her friends to take a measured approach to incorporating lifestyle changes. Her definite purpose is to offer this system to others as well. Debra is a two-time graduate of the University of Virginia with both a bachelor’s in finance and a master’s in business administration. Debra is also an NLP practitioner and yoga instructor. Her wellness routine includes playing with her grandson, Sammy. And she proudly claims each of her nearly sixty years of being.

FORWARD FOR THE WHEEL OF WELLNESS
We all have things we want in our lives and so many people find success in different ways. Some define success through money and power and others find it through relationships, networks and purpose. Since you are reading Wheel of Wellness, then improving your overall wellness is one of the ways you are defining success.
Our beliefs are the most important fuel we can use to propel our lives forward on the highway of success. We can use the analogy of driving a car with our desires and positive beliefs being our gas and our resistance, or beliefs we cannot have it as our brakes.
When we have our gas & brake on at the same time, we spin our wheels & feel stuck, going nowhere. All of us know how to let go of the gas, or our desires. We settle and give up on our dreams or at least decide it wasn’t what we wanted anyway. Most of us do not know how to release the brake and let go of our resistance. Once our resistance has been released, we can step on the gas full speed and reach our desires.
What you focus on expands and if you want to have all that you desire, focus on what is working and not on what is not working. The journey you take through this book will help you release resistance and give you a system to keep focusing on what is working so that you can allow yourself to be free of most of the bumps in the road on your path to wellness.

INTRODUCTION
You are about to discover the perfect way to achieve overall wellness in your life. Through reading this book, you will assess where you currently are in various areas of your life as part of a simple three-step system to improve your life in each area. Using this approach, you will be able to achieve more happiness and health than you ever realized you could. This book is about creating a Wheel of Wellness (WOW) life. Unlike what you may have experienced in the past, this time, you will not be overwhelmed with a big list of changes and new habits that you must employ. That is because the system identifies what area of your life you can focus your attention on first. And then it provides information you need in order to address that area of your life. With that information, you will use the techniques outlined in the book to create the mastery needed to achieve the results you desire.
