Personal Poems - Marshell Wortham-Harmon
I AM FRIEND
Most don’t know my name
I guess that’s why others didn’t notice me when I came
Some definitions of me are blank
To define me is to know me
To know me is to relate to me
My friends know I’ve struggled my entire life
I could’ve, should’ve, would’ve been dead,
But all things are possible with Christ
People don’t understand why my torch is always lit
True friends run beside you
Lighting your torch whenever it goes out
Finding a true friend is special
It’s something that makes you want to shout
A true friend makes you never doubt
Sometimes your steps may get short,
And your path may get dark
Sometimes the ones who have your blood running through their veins are the main ones who break your
